I must admit that I got caught by my own headline here, made me think about it, maybe even more than I wanted, but hey, when it sounds interesting -it probably is, yet again we tend to see only what we want, and by the way, we close our eyes in front of the real issues.
With this said, I want to warn you that changing your lifestyle, which often includes changing of a business aspect in your life, is a painful process and certainly unsuitable for you if you are in search for "short cuts".
Why do I write all this and who am I to tell you what is for you and what isn't? Let me go a bit deeper. I haven't pointed out that I'm 32 years old father and husband who have changed his lifestyle and business not one, not two, but many times - reasons for these changes were different, but main ideas behind every change was to push a bit further and finally reach the lifestyle of my dreams, did it hurt? You can bet on it!
Will it hurt you? I can bet it will!
Only right path to grab your life for it's ...khm,khm,khm, and take control, is to go slow and methodically without rushing in and dispersing your energy on irrelevant things, believe me - I didn't know what was I doing to.
Back in 2007 I decided to make a final change and started with my online business. It was all but not business at the beginnings, but it was a start, without any guidance and with a great will to learn and succeed, I got attracted with SEO, Marketing and blogging as found ament to any serious online venture, I must admit that it was shooting way over my head, but it was worth it.
Now I can say I really live in the lifestyle wanted, working in the branch that is always on the move, requires constant learning, demanding high focus and it sure pays well!
This saying was something that got me through difficult times when adopting my work to my lifestyle and finally changing both:
"Live as you can - if you can't as you wish"
Don't know who said it, it doesn't offer any motivational aspect, but it works as a real painkiller when life decides to "squeeze" you, don't recommend it to use this saying if you aren't already deep in the changes!
Even if it sounds like ludicrous -home based work doesn't mean more freedom, contrary, it will bring you more headache that you could ever dream, but it will also bring a high reward for your effort - if you decide to go through with it.
Same as with everything, planing and discipline are crucial to your success, when you get to the point that it's just natural way of living and working - you will be able to say that you succeeded.
For sure there are people who are born like this, and it seems that whatever they touch, they turn to gold, news flash - we aren't those few lucky ones. We need to work on ourselves, but at the end, taste of our success is sweeter.
