After winning battles with panic and generalized anxiety disorders, anxiety-induced depression, and alcoholism I was fortunate to have found my life’s passion and work.
So I left a career in the business world and earned my master’s degree and counseling credentials at the age of 51.
I’m a licensed counselor in private practice in Troy, Michigan, providing in-office and electronic/distance care.
I, at one time, believed hope and healing were fantasies. And in the midst of taking a self-inflicted emotional, mental, spiritual, and physical beating; I swore if I ever got out of the woods I’d help others do the same.
With tons of hard work and drive, I accomplished – and have sustained – my recovery. And am now able to be of assistance to others.
Finding my passion actually began in 1997. That’s when I wrote the first draft of what’s now my panic attack and anxiety education and recovery eWorkbook, Panic! …and Poetic Justice.
I began blogging in the spring of 2009, and my mood and anxiety sharing, learning, and healing blog - chipur - was born January 23, 2010.
