Averi is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Denver, Colorado, with 26 years of clinical experience. Three years ago, she became a Board Certified Diplomate in Clinical Social Work, an honor bestowed on her by recommendations from her colleagues. She has an MSW from the University of Denver and has pursued additional training in a variety of mental health specialties since graduating. Certifications include: NLP, EMDR, Ericksonian Hypnosis and Systemic Constellation Work. She is retired from the Cherry Creek Schools where she worked for 27 years as a clinical social worker, primarily with adolescents and their families. In 1998, she had the privilege of going on a one year work exchange to Adelaide, South Australia, where she worked as a school social worker for the state of South Australia. This experience, as well as world-wide travelling, has given her a unique perspective on cultural differences, and similarities, and a respect for other points of view which she carries into her work.
Recognizing that one is hurting and in need of change is a very intimate and personal process that takes courage and commitment. This journey also requires the guidance of a nurturing, supportive and effective therapist to help one achieve their goals and to support the process in a non-judgmental and positive manner. My belief about therapy is that it needs to go beyond just talking, and helping clients to have a new experience in the office which they can take forward and work with during the week in their day-to-day life. People in pain often have the experience of feelings and patterns which are difficult to break, and often seem "like we are living the life of someone else". From a systemic point of view, we often carry the hurts and unresolved issues of our family members and ancestors into our lives and become "entangled" in our family system. Through systemic constellation work, I support the client to become more aware of these hidden dynamics and to resolve them in order to move forward and claim your own life. If a serious trauma has occurred, incorporating EMDR (Eye Movement and Desentization and Reprocessing) is a powerful strategy for resolving these incidents and moving forward. I have had a great deal of experience working with individuals, families and couples to resolve significant issues that block the flow of love and harmony in their lives.
The Possible's slow fuse is lit
By the Imagination.

Here is my secret. It's quite simple:
One sees clearly only with the heart.
Anything essential is invisible to the eyes.
~Antoine De Saint-Exupery
My focus in therapy is to help clients to gain a new image and sense of what is possible in their lives and to support them in the change process. We will explore any difficult situations you have experienced in your life, ie early death of a parent or child, traumatic events, family myths and stories, that may have an impact on your current life experience. Through systemic constellation work and other appropriate approaches, the goal is to help you to feel more self-confident, secure and successful in your endeavors. You will be able to relase old patterns of behaivor and develop new ones that are supportive and healthy. If you are interested in working with me, you can call me at 303-906-2472 to discuss your needs.
