Only 5% of the general population realizes that martial arts is much more than kicking and punching. A good martial arts school will help improve the quality of life for all its students, young and old, by building good habits and good character.
Parents need to understand that children inherit some of their behavior from the family - even cousins and uncles and aunts contribute; and that "behavior" is a combination of hard wiring in the brain, hormones as well as what they learn in the family and life events. Parents also need to understand what motivates boys and girls and that parent's real role is to prepare their children to be high functioning, independent, mature human beings. Moms need to be stronger. Men need to be more nourishing.
My favorite quote is from Winston Churchill: "Never give up. Never give up. Never give up."
