Allison Massari’s work is a celebration of the power of the human spirit, and her journey is the quintessential story of courage and heart. Her potent message has reached audiences in more than 75 countries and is a testament to hope, radical compassion, and indestructible perseverance.
An interdisciplinary artist as well as an entrepreneur, Allison was preparing paintings for an important museum exhibition early in her art career when her world was shattered. Hit head-on at 60mph and trapped inside her car, she nearly lost her life in a fiery and explosive collision. Burned alive, conscious the entire time, Allison suffered 2nd and 3rd degree burns on over 50% of her body. Astonishingly, navigating the experience compelled her to discover an unshakeable strength and fortitude—and carefully learn the intricacies of what it takes to overcome adversity and live with heart.
With deep insight and sensitivity, Allison bravely shares her personal experiences. Her keynotes instill essential tools of self-mastery—teaching how to triumphantly access grace and resilience in the face of challenges and be a dynamic force of goodness. “I want to sweep people away through the power of storytelling, to encourage and lift them up, and to help each person reconnect to their purpose with a desire to show up fully in life, in work and with each other.”
Though Allison’s primary art-form is now the spoken word, her paintings, sculptures and mixed-media work are an integral part of her presentation as the poignant visual backdrop to her keynotes. Her artwork has been widely acquired by prominent private art collectors and museums internationally, and she has received commissions from Fortune 500 companies including Lockheed Martin, General Mills, and US Airways. The Museum of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg, Florida also holds her artwork in its permanent collection.
In 1998, motivated by her desire to support and uplift others, Allison founded a revolutionary adventure camp for teenagers with severe burn injuries in partnership with the Adaptive Sport Center, a non-profit located in Crested Butte, Colorado. These teens learn to ski, snowboard, ice climb, rock climb, dog-sled, make artwork, and so much more—expanding their confidence and vigor for life. Each year Allison raises funds so that the children don’t pay a dime to attend and can feel the support and influence of the world around them.
Allison believes wholeheartedly that life is sweeter and unfolds with more ease when we choose to devote ourselves to kindness, healing and hope—in spite of our challenges. She purposefully shares her message of resilience and strength with profound vulnerability, committed to her desire for no person to feel alone.
