Love is at the core of my efforts in every situation. It can serve as the best motivation and editor of our thinking and writing. Each activity can be an opportunity to cultivate greater attention to detail - to build the kind of attention one has when one has fallen in love with a car, a dog, an idea or a human being. When this attention, which is at its foundation a naturally recurring act of surrender and submission, is present we are better equipped to act with intention in our sentences and in our lives.
As midwife, my job is to get you out of the way of an idea whose time has come. There will be some discomfort. But ultimately, there will be rejoicing. If you'd like to know more about how I work, please set aside ten minutes each day for a week and free-write at various times of day and in different locations. After throwing the internal editor a bone to chew on while you dance across the page, the only thing to aim for when free-writing is getting more words on the page this time than last time. At the end of seven days, email me at urthetechnology@gmail.com and I will send you a short survey about your writing. After you have completed the survey and have received my feedback, we can discuss next steps.
