There is an on going saga with a good friend of mine. She comes to me weekly about a fellow who consistently leaves her hanging. I had an interesting chat with my friend today.
Nearly in tears she asked me to listen to a voicemail that the guy had left her. She said it had given her so much hope that they were going to finally work things out. I listened. To me, the outsider who is looking in, it sounded as though he was thinking about it, but with the same resonance of past voicemails.
I am going away for the weekend but promise to call you on Monday, BLAH BLAH BLAH” Now, it just so happens that this has been the way all the events have taken place in my dear friends life. Hurry up and wait on someone else. If they call, or they come around….then I feel happy. I realized that my dear friend suffered from the “When am I going to be good enough?” syndrome.
Not good enough for the rest of the world….but good enough for herself.
You know folks…until you are right with yourself you cannot be right with everyone else. My friend is now on a right track for healing. For realizing that she is good enough. She will soon realize that she will begin attracting those individuals into her life that compliment how she feels about herself….“GOOD ENOUGH”
Let this be a lesson for everyone. The state of mind that someone else is in, has absolutely nothing to do with you. Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality. So it’s theirs…and let it be that way. When you learn to be good enough for you, the state of mind others are in have no effect on you …what so ever.
