Prevent Bacteria Growth:

Maintaining consistent oral care is one way to stop bacteria proliferation. It isn't enough to just brush and floss your teeth, you need to clean your tongue as well. Using a good mouth antiseptic or mouthwash will help also. By doing this on a regular basis you restrict bacteria production.

Drink Lots of Water:

Drinking 8 glasses of water is not only for having a healthy body. It is also good in stopping bad breath before it starts. Being hydrated will help in the prevention of bacteria and its waste.

Avoid Carbohydrates and Sugar

Certain carbohydrates like white bread, white pasta, white rice and white potatoes should be monitored when you eat them. The growth of bacteria in the mouth increases when exposed to these types of food. Instead, eat more whole grains. Bacterial growth is less likely to feed on them because they are less refined.

Avoid Anything That Dry The Mouth:

Alcohol, smoking, caffeine should be avoided. Also try to minimize breathing through the mouth if at all possible. Also be aware that the medicine you're taking can lead to the question of "why do I have bad breath".
