What Is the Procedure?
If your dentist provides customized trays, you will come into the office to be fit and given trays and solution. You put the solution in the trays and apply the trays according to directions for 10 to 14 days. After that time, you will see a difference in two to five shades brighter. The solution uses hydrogen peroxide and changes the chemical makeup of carbamide peroxide.
Some dentists prefer a laser whitening system. This is completed in one day. Dentists perform teeth whitening by using laser whitening after he or she applies a 35 percent hydrogen peroxide solution on your teeth. Once this solution is on the teeth, a light shines on your teeth to accelerate the chemical reaction of the hydrogen peroxide.
Regardless of the procedure used, the effectiveness is the same. And, you will have to visit the dentist every three to six months to have your teeth whitened again due to everyday habits, such as drinking dark beverages.
