There are several kinds of dreaming and one of the strangest yet most exciting ones is lucid dreaming. So, what is lucid dreaming? Most of the time, we are not familiar with the settings and people involved in our dreams. We feel like we are in a strange place and interacting with people whom we may or may not recognize. More often than not, we cannot control the events. Everything merely happens by itself. When it comes to lucid dreaming you would feel really strange because you can control the flow and the happenings. You can become like a director of a movie.

Lucid dreaming is completely different from a nightmare, precognitive, past life, or ordinary dreams. The foremost thing that would help you distinguish lucid dreaming from the others is that you feel awake while dreaming. All of your five senses are alert. It feels like you suddenly woke up in a dream, and not in the real world. You are absolutely aware that you are sleeping and just dreaming. Most experts would express the same rationalization with regards to what is lucid dreaming.

What’s exciting about this is that you can do anything you want to do. You can fly and go anywhere you like. You can make things happen which you can’t in real life. You can be with someone you like and meet anyone. Therefore, if you want to have a happy dream, you simply have to think of it and construct it yourself.  If you want to overcome your fear like speaking in public, you can practice by way of lucid dreaming.

what is lucid dreaming? Further explanations state that lucid dreaming is when your consciousness is at a high stage while you are sleeping. According to Frederick van Eden, the person who discovered this particular type of dream, the term “lucid” is derived from the sense of mental clarity. This certain dream is affected by two levels of lucidity: the low-level and high-level.

At low-level lucidity, you maybe are conscious in your dreams but sometimes you tend to get away from thinking that the people in your dreams are just representations. You, sometimes, can get carried away and may feel like you will get hurt or acquire some physical discomfort. You can’t fully distinguish that you are just sleeping on your bed.

What is lucid dreaming at high-level lucidity?  In this case, you are entirely aware that everything is just a dream. Nothing is real; therefore, you can freely do everything you want without feeling scared of getting hurt.  If you want to get to a high-level lucidity, you need to practice, meditate, and focus on your desires. Practice controlling your dreams. When you learn and practice the art of meditation, your lucidity will increase to a higher level making you totally in control of everything that is happening in your dreams.
