WHAT IS ENLARGED HEART
Hypertrophy of the heart or enlarged heart is a term used for a heart with a thick muscle wall, or to describe an overloaded with dilated heart chambers. Both conditions affect the efficiency of the heart's pumping action and may be associated with cardiac muscle failure. A heart thickens almost always as the result of prolonged and uncontrolled hypertension. Sometimes it is due to a valve (aortic valve), and very rarely caused by an inherited heart muscle. Overloaded heart is the result of myocardial damage of any kind, usually due to coronary artery disease (calcification of the arteries that supply the heart)Enlarged heart can also result from the abnormal valves and, more rarely, infection or toxic effects of alcohol on the heart muscle (cardiomyopathy).
The causes of enlarged heart
The heart is the blood oxygenation in the main body. The renewal of energy and the cell occurs when the left and right ear of the body is deprived of oxygen and recycling of fresh blood, a source of oxygen-rich life to perfection. Hypertrophy of the heart indicates the overworked agency or underlying heart disease. The heart is exercised in both physiological and pathological conditions. The trigger is a defect in heart valves or prolonged and intense exercise. Overload due to efforts to meet the demands of the body, the heart must work harder, which highlights and grow.
Symptoms:
Signs and symptoms of enlarged heart include:
spasm valve and coronary and / or disease
Hypertension
Obesity
Cardiac ischemia
thyroid problems
Anemia
Sleep Apnea
Swelling
Difficulty breathing
Abnormal heart rhythms
Palpitations

Symptoms:

After an investigation of the diagnostic analysis of the situation, treatment options should be taken immediately to avoid the fate of the shape of a heart attack. Usually, the diagnosis is based on the results of ultrasound and X-rays These methods are based on the results of tests designed to stress the muscle thickness, size and function of the study and heart function. The structure of the heart valves, kidney or stenosis of potential and muscle performance to be identified and evaluated before taking one or several treatment options available.
Treatment by an enlarged heart include:

• ACE inhibitors
.
• Diuretic drugs
.
• low-fat diet for a healthy cholesterol level.

• regular exercise regimen.

• Analysis of common clinical disease.
Cardiomegaly, also identified as an enlarged heart, is not a state in and of itself but the symptom of an basic state. An enlarged heart could be the effect of anxiety or a severe medical condition, such as cardiomyopathy (weakened heart muscle), or high blood pressure, and may or may not be reason for anxiety. Treatment is expected at curing the underlying state, and can comprise pills and surgery. Other methods, such as exercise and eating a healthy diet, may help to get better your overall health.
Medication
Treatment of cardiomegaly is cause detailed. If caused by high blood pressure, then blood pressure medicine may be prearranged; if caused by anemia, iron supplements may help out.
Strong diuretics that help rinse out the body of surplus water and potassium can improve the force put on the arteries and heart. These medications comprise furosemide and spironolactone, the latter of which can aid in the avoidance of scar tissue forming on the heart.
In the event that high blood pressure is causing the weakened and enlarged heart, angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors may be used. They work by lowering the blood pressure and therefore lessening the attempt the heart has to put out to pump blood. This type of enlargement is called hypertrophy. Finally, digoxin may be used to increase the heart's ability to pump, causing a decreased amount of stress on the organ and thus preventing the build-up of thick heart tissue.

Risk Factors

You may have a superior danger of increasing an enlarged heart, if you have any of the following factors:
Hypertension. With blood pressure higher than 140/90 millimeters of mercury, puts you at greater risk of developing an enlarged heart
Blocked arteries in his heart (CHD). If you have coronary artery disease, fatty plaques in the arteries of his heart, so blood does not flow easily through the vessels of his heart. Sometimes this leads to a heart attack, where a portion of heart muscle dies. If this happens, the heart must pump harder for enough blood to the rest of his body, causing it to expand.
Congenital heart disease. If you were born with a ailment that affects the structure of their hearts, they symbolize a higher risk of rising an enlarged heart, especially if their state is not treated.
Valvular heart disease. The heart has four valves - aortic, mitral, pulmonary and tricuspid - that unlock and lock the flow of blood through the heart. Valves may be injured by a diversity of situation that led to a narrowing (stenosis), leaking (regurgitation or insufficiency) or improper closing (prolapsed).
