Vocal Coaching Tips to Give YOU the Edge

It amazes me how few singers appreciate the importance of correct breathing. If there is no breath there is no life. If there is no breath-there is no voice.!Simple as Simon.
If you do not control your breath,you have a zero chance of making it as a vocalist.

Look at how an eagle flies; he rides on the air currents -he locks his wings and soars higher and higher, right to the edge of the stratosphere!
He plays the wind as he wills.You must learn,too,how to let your voice soar using the air current as a platform.

This comes only with lots of practice. If you have a steady,firm and focussed flow-you will have fingertip control of your vocal tone.
Let us look,then,at how you can achieve it;

I am going to give you an exercise that will fast track you there if you work consistently and WITHOUT STRAIN at it.
Before I get into that -a word of caution; when you ventilate your lungs as in breathing exercises,you are bringing much more oxygen than normal into your body and that may give you giddy spells at first. Do not be overly concerned. It is totally normal,and will soon pass as you practice regularly.
Checking with your Doctor is recommended at the outset.

BREATHING LESSON: In order to get vocal control you need to breathe from the diaphragm. Take a deep breath.
Place your hands on your waist and feel the sides swell outwards with force of air.
DO NOT allow your shoulders to rise or your chest to stretch unduly. Keep steady and relaxed. Do not over exert yourself. Nice and easy does it every time -as the song goes.

Now,stand erect but relaxed; breathe in to a count of 4 and out to a count of 4. Do this several times,and then inhale for a four count,hold your breath for four and exhale for 4.
Breathe deeply,as you have been shown. do this WITHOUT STRAIN for up to 20 minutes. Then rest.
Do not be fooled by the simplicity of this exercise. Do it and do it right. This is your foundation.
The more you practice this exercise,the better control you will have over your voice.

When you get to making a habit of diaphragmatic breathing,your progress will accelerate rapidly.
Get the method right-put in the practice time-and you will succeed as sure as God made little green apples. To get more tips and training programmes,plus FREE SINGING LESSONS and reviews of the best training methods as used by the stars,check out my new review Blog below.
