Valentine’s Day might be considered to many as a Hallmark holiday. For some it might just be another day that they want to forget, and for other’s it will be a day that they will always remember. Some will go all out lavishly as a token to express their love. For some an “I love you” will simply suffice.

Valentine’s Day is just one day a year. Some people don’t buy into all the hype that goes with it and some do. If you get the gift, the card and get treated special that is great. I feel bad for the countless people that will shed tears because they were not treated so special. Some might not get a card or be told “I love you” or “Happy Valentine’s Day,”while vowing to them self that next year it will be different.

What about the other 364 days in the year? Don’t they account for something? While love and appreciation should never go unnoticed, do we need a national holiday to remind us? I would like to think that every day is Valentine’s Day. Life is a celebration of everything big and small. We celebrate our milestones, births, anniversary’s and everything in between. Valentine’s Day is another day to celebrate, because we found love and those who hold a special meaning in our life.

I wish a special Happy Valentine’s Day to all the single people. They are true to themselves. Just because they might not have found the right person for them does not mean that they have to suffer through another Hallmark Holiday. I raise my glass to toast them and if they are looking for true love, I hope they find it. If they are not looking for love, I toast their independence and self-worth.

So, here’s to making Valentine’s Day an everyday event. Keep the lines of communication open and the love alive. Always appreciate the one you love and let them know that you do. This is one holiday that you can’t say you forgot, there are millions of advertisements and things posted everywhere. Make your special someone happy and let them know how much they mean to you this Valentine’s Day and every day. I wish you love and harmony, always.
