Words are extremely powerful. We all know that Proverbs 18:21 states, “The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” (NIV). Our mouth plays an important part in our potential to improve our financial situation.
You have the power to change the course of your financial situation. The real question is, how are you using that power and are you willing to change the course of your life if the present use of your power is misguided?
The truth is, we are the ones who choose what comes out of our mouths. We are responsible for the fruits we eat from the words we speak. How are we going to draw more abundance into our lives if we are grumbling, blaming, name-calling, criticizing and cursing others all of the time? It is difficult for us to get away from this since it is everywhere in our society.
The first step toward changing our position is to become aware of the negativity in our lives and where it is coming from. Recognize that words are constantly influencing our own minds and the words we speak to others. What would someone hear if they recorded all your thoughts and words spoken over the past twenty-four to forty-eight hours? Would this recording be inspiring and uplifting, giving people hope and a cause to look forward to tomorrow? Would your words draw them toward you and make them want to do business with you? Would individuals hear a lot of grumbling, negativity, complaining and name-calling?
What comes out of your mouth reveals who you are. Are you speaking words of encouragement, life and blessing? Are you building people and circumstances up or are you tearing them down?
When you change the words which come out of your mouth you will change your life. Your boss will look forward to speaking with you and giving you more assignments or help find you an assistant if you are presently overloaded. Customers will want to do business with you. People will be attracted to you and thus, your prosperity will grow.
For one week challenge yourself to thank God for each and every person in your life, those you work with, live with and come in contact with on the street, in the store and at the bank. As part of that thanks, ask God to bless them for having touched your life. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 tells us that it is God’s will for us to thank Him in all our circumstances. By asking God to bless those around us, we too will be blessed by God.
Our present financial situation is a blessing for which we are to be thankful. It will move us closer to God and take us deeper into His will for our lives.
We have a choice, we can be thankful or we can spread more discouragement, disappointments, accusations, and create more problems with our negative words. Are we using the power and influences of our finances and our words to advance His kingdom?
The only way our financial literacy is going to increase is if we use what we have to show the world that God does in fact exist. Are we investing wisely and giving generously? Our words and finances have the power to bring life to others and to glorify God in many ways.
Our words have a direct impact on our happiness, our health and our wealth. Words hold a special key to living with power, purpose and consistency. Change your words and you will change your life and your financial position. Give it a try. You have nothing to loose and everything to gain.
