Part-1: SAMAYASAR- The Journey to Moksa

Everybody in this universe is under stress, worry and anxiety because things do not progress in the manner as one wants and sometimes, some where peace appears as glimpse of light. One always yearns for an ever lasting state of contentment and calm pleasure. Is it possible? To answer this needs to understand how Jive roams. It is a fact, Jiva roams in four class of realm of existence (Gati) like sub humans (Tiryanch), humans (Manushya), infernal (Narak), celestial (Dev), all which consist of 84 lakhs type of birthplaces (Yoni). Therefore jiva appears and disappears in these yonis as a cyclic chain. The foundation/framework of birth-death cycles is cause of universal misery.

To achieve paramagnet and infinite happiness, one ought to know the form of happiness and where that happiness is? Going back into history, nearly 2000 years back, Acharya Kund Kund Swami had showed the pathway through his Gathas in Samayasar Granth for achieving of end of this cycle of birth-death permanently.

For this one needs to know the true concept of the nature. Before accepting any system, question yourself- who am I? The answer to this is extremely difficult with many ifs and buts to it. It requires a clear concept of the laws of the nature, the form and the relative relationships of the qualities and characteristics of the universe functioning and coordinating in perfect harmony.

Samayasar presents the views of Jinwani were divine-voice of the infinite numbers of Omniscient Gods who had achived the goal of Moksa. It has to be noted 20 omniscient Gods still exist in the universe. It says the substance is a definite character with definite qualities free of any interference. The complete acceptance and belief of attributes of substance in the right form and in the right sense, is the first step towards journey to Moksa. Self is soul, a conscious entity physically invisible, untouchable, indestructible, expansion & contraction of bodily form but its internal properties is store house of infinite knowledge, perception, happiness, power and more. Each attribute goes on changing at constant rate. Therefore the happiness comes from the happiness property of soul. With these qualities appeared a soul becomes Pramatma (God). God is not a defined person or controller but is a cluster of specific classical qualities. These qualities the soul enjoys independently and it neither interacts, disturbs, distributes anything nor do other substances (Dravuya). However self can be associated with matter Karmic or non-karmic but the two do not mix together and thus no modification occurs. Both have their own authority and identity. Their association can however be understood provided the relationship of self with universe is known. The existence of universe is due to presence of six kinds of substances and seven kind of Tatava. The substance is the constitution of whole characteristic qualities with permanency and that is under constant sequence bound modifications. These are in the order of: Jiva (soul), Pudgal (matter, with characteristics of touch, taste, color, smell); Dharma (principle of motion- an instrumental cause for motion to Jiva and matter); Adharma (principle of rest- instrumental cause for rest to Jiva & matter); Akash (space- an instrumental cause for providing place to all substances) and Kal (time- for working at the every moment). Each is substance with an identity and they do not intervene in the authority of other substances. All exists in the whole universe since eternity. Thus the universe is also eternal and with no beginning and end.

Despite the pure soul having infinite characteristic qualities it is chained to the cycle of birth-death since eternal. Why is that so? How can the soul break the shackles of the four realm of existence? The main reason is the existence of seven Tatav in the universe in the order: Jiva, Ajiva (no consciousness as matter, Dharma, Adharma, akash, Kal substances), Asrava, Bandh, Samvara, Nirjara and Moksa tatavs. The bonding is due to Asrava (inflow of Karma) and Bandh (bonding). The Asrava tatav encourages the new karmic matter to flow towards soul whether these are good or bad (Punya or Papa) done by an individual for own karmic activity at every stage. The Bandh tatav obstructs the new Karma for bonding with soul in its area (Pradesh). This works like a barrier film on the soul which obstructs the true qualities of the soul to appear. These two tatav also decides the degree of activities of karma about the mode of substance, area, time, system and auxiliary cause for the production of end results. The appearance of end results of group of Karma is termed as Upadan (material cause). Thus the result is neither by chance nor by auxiliary cause (Nimitta). But it seems as if an external power is responsible for these acts. Thus self karmas are the builder of future of happiness-sorrows and cyclic birth-death. Also known as bad Karma always produces bad result whereas good karma may help you in getting a seat at heavenly abode. But it has to be kept into mind that it is also a chain of gold, Karmas are still operative that will not allow Self soul to be librated from cyclic birth-death.

Every self soul is found in Karmic chain. The breaking relation is very important for enlightenment, possible only when the flow of Karma stops. Samvara Tatav is an instrument in blocking the inflow of Karmas. Possible under the circumstances when self has complete faith about the true nature of reality and scientific differences among soul, matter and other substances. The very firm determination for the right faith makes Samvara tatav functional in blocking the flow of Karmas. However this much is not sufficient as previous old Karmas are still associated with the soul that also needs destruction. When the purity of self increases, Nirjara tatav starts to function wearing down the old Karmas in many fold proportions. A stage is reached where the self soul gets librated from all the associated Karmas. This is called Moksa tatav in which a complete purity of soul i.e. infinite qualities becomes visible instaneously. The soul achieves a special position of God known as Sidha/Shiva Bhagwan which is permanent without birth-death.

For journey to Moksa, it is essential to have a true scientific knowledge of reality among soul and other substances. The true acceptance with the firm determination is called right faith. This is the first step towards Moksa. A small ray of doubt in mind will be a wrong step and thus the failure to attain Moksa. Therefore always think in the right way and be firm whatever the circumstances prevailing around you. The knowledge through which right faith appears is known right knowledge. To lean whole heartily in self along with conducting various function of system in right way is called right conduct. All the three combined together as three jewels constitute Yoga sadhna journey to Moksa.
