Some of the biggest problems with affiliate marketing are: finding a good quality product to promote, getting the cheapest domain name and webhosting, and getting paid. Now a lot of people, including your truly, use Clickbank. They have a lot of digital products to promote and if you have your own product you can put it there and have people like me promote it for you.
I'm sure you've gotten emails about ready made websites, right? Me too.Sounded great at first, until you get the website and find out you have to use that company's webhosting which can be ridiculously high. But I found a way around that. Now I'm not claiming to be some kind of expert on affiliate marketing, not even close. This is just an article to let some of you know what kinds of things to avoid when trying to do affiliate marketing.
If you haven't visited my site yet please do.It's not just about losing weight or Self Growth. It's about how our world is made up of different things.I have 3 whole pages on my website. My homepage, which has Fat Loss Factor on it,my links page, which has 4 links(one of which is for SelfGrowth.com),and an Our Selection page. That has little paragraphs about the other links on my links page.
Now I have heard that Clickbank pays every week and they try to keep out the vendors who don't pay the affiliates like they should. This is good, since you don't want to be spending money on ppc,cpa and all the other advertising things a lot of people are doing today, and not see something in return for your hard work.
Now I'm going to be perfectly honest with you,I have been trying to make money with affiliate marketing for quite a while now.No I haven't made any money, yet. It will come. But I need to share with you some of the things I've learned in just the past 4-5 months. In May,I was contacted by a 'coaching company'.They wanted $500.00 for 5-6 weeks of training. This was to include: showing me how to build my website, hosting, and a 1 hour coaching call a week.
At first I told them NO because I don't have $500.00 just laying around, who does?Well, then they dropped it to $300.00 for 3 weeks training.I could split the payment in half even.Ok,I thought,Maybe this is what I need.Ah,no.It wasn't but again it was.It was because even though the coaching was nonexistent,I still learned something from it.
I already had a domain name, and I wanted to use it for the site I was going to build. No can do says the coaching company. If they did use my domain they couldn't get into the control panel with me and help me set it up the way they wanted it.Which I think they were setting me up to fail.Sorry, but failure is not an option.
I got tired of waiting for the coaching company to pick back up on the coaching end of it.I refused to pay the other half of the $300.00 until the website was up and running and bringing in money. The last call I got was in July,I think. And lo and behold here we are in October.I got one more call from the new coach in September. He never called back.
You can build your own site without having to spend an outrageous amount of money on a domain name and webhosting. The domain name company I use is NetFirms.com.They have great deals and exceptional customer service.I've had to contact customer service maybe 3 or 4 times.Once by phone and the rest by email. The email responses took less than 24 hours.
They also have 3 different site building tools.Ranging from free(my personal favorite) to $9.99 a month. That one's for the techie advanced people,of which I am not a member. It is very simple to use.I even have a Google Adsense account, but unfortunately,I messed up something when I tried putting it on my website or I did something wrong on the Google end of it.Anyway,it doesn't work.
Just watch out for push button traffic schemes, traffic anarchy, traffic automation, and stuff like that because it really doesn't work. And don't take any calls from coaching companies.Don't sign up for any one on one coaching unless it can be checked thoroughly through the Better Business Bureau. Those, I think, are some of the biggest rip offs besides the automated traffic garbage out there.
