With the Disseminating (Waning Gibbous) Phase we gain clarity. We interact with others. We ask questions and share ideas, feelings, insights and knowledge. We struggle to align or re-align our vision with the entire cycle. We are introspective as we review the feelings that prompted the action during the First Quarter Phase.

Continuing with the example used in previous Moon Phase articles ~ during the New Moon Phase your dream of a new job became a goal. In the Crescent Phase the realization of the what that could mean raised all the doubts you have about yourself. At the First Quarter Phase you acted confidently, made a commitment and told others of your decision. In the Gibbous Phase you looked into the jobs available, and finally during the Full Moon Phase you submitted resumes, went on interviews and had a realization.
Weather you come to realize that your dream of a new job was a success or a failure ~ during this phase of time you must “reckon with that realization ” and begin talking about it with others. You’ll find that you’re draw to like minded people and you begin to ask questions and share what you have learned. This leads to some understanding that will allow you to bring things to completion at the Fourth Quarter Phase.

Each of the 8 Lunar Phases lasts just under 4 days. During the Disseminating phase the Moon is waning (decreasing in light) and moves from 225 to 270 degrees ahead of the Sun. The Moon rises late at night and does not set until well after Sunrise. In fact you will this Moon in the West in the early morning floating against the pale blue sky.

If you were born during the Disseminating Phase you are a communicator, teacher, or mentor who inspire others. The urge to share your knowledge and wisdom with the world is the major motivation in your life. This is the “guru” Moon ~ you feel an urge to reform the world and often your ideas and insights are revolutionary in nature. But those born during the "guru" Moon need to make sure they have something worth sharing. To be a good teacher you must first have been a good student. Master the art of listening and observing, guard against becoming a self-righteous preacher and to be willing to reconcile your vision with the needs of others.

Note ~ The third and fourth quarter are the phases during which the visible portion of the moon is waning (decreasing) toward the dark of the new Moon. There is a gradual reduction of the light we receive from the Moon and the outward flow of energy gives way to processing what was initiated ~ information is gathered and elimination begins ~ endings can be accomplished faster and more smoothly by being aligned with this natural decrease in energy.
