In today’s troubled times where families are being faced with many challenges and obstacles, as well as with issues of teen-age pregnancy and "Careers vs. Home & Family", building a positive relationship between parent and child has never been more difficult and needing of effort and time.

In today’s modern times, with ‘new realities’ facing parents and their children, parenting has become a more tough job. It entails maintaining close relationships and keeping open communications between parents and children which helps to ensure parents and their children stay connected through all ages of their upbringing.

Parenting advice and parenting blog have never been more needed in today’s times as parents are more struggling to strengthen and maintain parenting relationship with their families. All the needed parenting classes, advices, tips, and guides from parenting blog sites are now becoming more valuable.

A recent Penn State study even claimed that expectant parents who completed a brief relationship-strengthening class around the time their child was born showed lasting effects on each family member's well being and on the family's overall relationships.

Here are some simple parenting tips that could help enhance the bond between parent and child:

I Love You. The most important and most significant action a parent should show and tell their child is saying “I love you” to them every day. No matter what age your children are, telling them that you love them even on trying days or after a parent-child disagreement is more important than ever to express your love. A simple "I love you" goes a long way toward developing and then strengthening your relationship.

The Value of Faith. You should teach your child about your faith and beliefs. Tell them and explain to them what you believe in and tell them why you believe in them. Moreover, give them time to ask questions and answer them honestly. Then don’t forget to reinforce those teachings often by example and deeds.

The Power of a Special Name Or Code Word. In order to show that you love each of your children as a unique, special, and separate individual, you can create a special name for your child that is positive and special or a secret code that you can use between each other. You can use this special name as a simple reinforcement of your love. Establish a code word that has a special meaning between your child and you that only you two understand. This code word can even be used to extract a child from an uncomfortable situation without causing undue embarrassment to the child.

The Special Bedtime Ritual. For younger children, you can develop and maintain a special bedtime ritual for each of your children. You can read a favorite bedtime book or tell them stories before they go to sleep. These rituals will be remembered most likely throughout their life. For older children, they can read a page, chapter, or short book to you once they know how to read. Older children should never be neglected as they could get jealous too. Even most teenagers though they don't act like it still enjoy the ritual of being told by a parent goodnight in a special way.

Set a Time for Play. You must set a time to play with your children. The key to really strengthening your relationship is to really play with your children. In this way, show that you really care and love them and you really gave them time to bond and interact with them. Play with dolls, balls, or sing songs or dance, or whatever is fun and interesting. What you play doesn't matter, just enjoy each other!
