Tired of the same ole bacon and eggs for breakfast?
Want to try breakfast recipes new and exciting, but were afraid to ask? Well, let me have that fear you.
My family and I love to travel and when we travel to new places, we like to enjoy culture. Breakfast has always been an important food in our family, naturally, we like to know what recipes breakfast each culture has to offer.
I'll start out of curiosity the following three real breakfast recipes:
1) Mexico - atole (a hot drink creamy breakfast)
This is a delicious drink and is also very satisfying. This is one of the breakfast drinks popular in Mexico. I was told that people in Mexico took it all the time.
It is a thick drink that is thickened with cornstarch drink (corn flour or cornstarch). I've been to Mexico four times now and only discovered Atole in my most recent trip. My wife and I had a cup each for breakfast and it was divine.
Indians in Mexico also used to soothe the stomach porridge because it is alkaline based and as a bonus, the scent flavor can provide some aromatherapy. Would have to attend, and it was very relaxing to have our gruel and listening to the waves. You probably will not come on vacation bad!
2) Ukraine -) Bulochky (Ukraine buns or bread
Products for breakfast foods vary from region to region in Ukraine and some foods are available at certain times of year only. This recipe for breakfast is brought by a very good friend and kind. His family is from Ukraine and this recipe is a staple food.
For breakfast Bulochky these can be baked individually and buns or a loaf pan. You can serve warm scones with jam, butter or honey.
A typical recipe includes breakfast Bulochky Ukrainian cheese with slices of age or fried eggs topped with dashed and sour cream.
For a more robust breakfast, Bulochky served with potato pancakes, breaded veal cutlets, tomatoes and cucumbers. Ukraine natives eat this food before doing heavy manual labor work. I eat it because
is delicious and satisfying.
3) Malaysia - Roti Canai
I lied ... Roti Canai is not a recipe for breakfast, which is suitable for any time of day. The difference between breakfast and dinner or at any other time is what you put into it. Malays enjoy this with your favorite curry at any time of day.
For breakfast, however, I tend to dip it in sugar or condensed milk. Roti Canai is thin and soft at the same time and excellent flavor. It is by far one of my favorite snacks. Roti Canai is served in small mom and pop stores throughout Malaysia.
There was one place in Kuala Lumpur, which sold many different varieties of Roti Canai but the life of me I can not remember what the name of that store. I guess the family will have to make another trip to Malaysia to find it!
I hope I have given you a "taste" of some of the popular breakfast recipes around the world and I sincerely encourage you to give it a try. Who knows you may find your next favorite breakfast recipe may be from Ukraine.
