There are over 30 diverse kinds of ovarian cancer which are classified as per their kind of cell from which they initiate. Cancerous ovarian tumors can begin from three general cell types:

Epithelial ovarian tumors are derived from the cells outside the ovary. This is the most ordinary variety of cancer in the ovary and happens principally in adults.
Germ Cell Tumors – Ovarian germ cell tumors build up from the cells that generate the eggs. The majority germ cell tumors are non-cancerous, even though some are cancerous and perhaps life threatening. The most ordinary germ cell malignancies are budding teratomas, dysgerminomas, and endodermal sinus cancers.
Sex cord-stromal tumors, also identified as sex cord-gonadal stromal tumors, build up in the ovaries. This set of tumors is accountable for just under 5% of testicular cancers, in addition to 8% of ovarian cancers. 70% of patients with sex cord-stromal tumors are in stage I of cancer maturity, which frequently directs to a positive prognosis.
