The cost of a seminar is more expensive than ever. It can cost $100 per person or more to hold a seminar when you consider how much you’re going to spend on advertising, brochures, mailing announcements, and seminar rooms. With the current economic crisis, professional speakers from around the globe have to work harder and spend more to get a customer’s attention than ever before.

However, I can show you how to work smarter, with less cash output and greater results.

Automate a system for marketing your seminar. Have a website to collect the first name and email address of an interested person. Then email them the details of when and where you’re going to speak.

Emails are free. It’s one of the cheapest forms of advertising there is. There are several good autoresponder services that can send out thousands of email for you. This cuts down your costs on promotion and advertising significantly. Here are a few of the better autoresponder services:

Here’s how it works. About two months before the day of you event, you set up a website on the internet that advertises your seminar. This site advertises the seminar with all the pertinent information you want the reader to know: name of the event, place, time, admission price (if any), etc. Have an area of the website to collect their first name and their email address. Then use an autoresponder to send them emails that market your seminar.

Take the time to write seven to eight different email messages, and then send out one a week. This reminds the reader that 1) your seminar is coming up, 2) you’re speaking about something that they are interested in. For you, this is pertinent advertising that helps you to connect with a large audience quickly, and efficiently.
