Moving Overseas

I am in a really tricky situation. I am twenty five years old, work for a high street bank and have been with my boyfriend for about six years. We live in a nice apartment just a five minute walk from where I work and until recently we hardly argued and had big plans for our future. However all that has changed and I am currently making one of the hardest decisions of my life.

Perhaps I should mention that my boyfriend is Italian. He comes from a small village very near to Lake Como. We have visited his family many times and it is an absolutely stunning place. Twelve months ago we decided that we should go and live in Italy. My boyfriend was missing his very big Italian family and I was excited about learning a new language and living in a foreign country. We had made a lot of plans for our Moving Overseas move overseas. I had enquired about jobs and we had found a few possible apartments to rent. It was all worked out.

Unfortunately a few short weeks ago my father passed away. He was young, in good health and his untimely death came as a shock to us all. Most of all my mother. I am an only child and I now feel that I cannot leave my mother on her own. There is no way she would consider moving to Italy and I don’t blame her, her friends are here. My boyfriend understands my situation but is still pushing me to make the move. He says that I cannot let the situation dictate my life. I hate making decisions which are so hard and I really could do with some help on this one. Answers on a postcard please.
