Habits
Interesting stuff. Have you been watching the latest Bob Proctor videos? They are awesome.
But what I find especially interesting is that it’s what I’ve been saying for quite a while now.
Nice to know that Bob and I agree;
Bob Proctor calls them ‘paradigms’; I call them habits.
But what we both agree on is that it’s ‘stuff’ that we learned as kids, at school, from our parents and those beliefs and behaviours are what keeps us stuck. What sabotages us when we are looking at goals.
Have you noticed how when something happens in our lives, we always behave in the same way. We say the same things, act in the same way.
Why?
Because we’ve been ‘programmed’.
It wasn’t meant to harm us. I’m sure it was done with the best of intentions.
But in order to move forward we need to change those habits (paradigms)
So how do we do that?.
We change our thinking. Once we do that everything in our lives starts to work
If you believe that you don’t deserve good, then nothing good will happen to you
And that could apply to anything – relationships, money, health, weight.
If you believe that you do deserve, that you’re worthy of the very best then that is exactly what will occur in your life – miracles will start to appear as if by magic.
Changing your thinking is not easy and sometimes we need a little help.
It’s like medicine you need to be taking it every day for it to work.
You clean your teeth twice a day, so you need to be practicing changing your thoughts every single day.
As Louise Hay says “It’s only a thought and a thought can be changed”
If you get up in the morning dreading the day, guess what? You’ll miss the train, get caught in the rain, deal with difficult people and you will have a bad day
But if you wake up looking forward to the ‘adventures’ that life will bring; the traffic will be smooth, the rain will only start once you’re in the office and people will be nice. Because they will be reacting to your good humour!!
(But even if the traffic is bad, you’ll say ‘so what’? If it rains, so? As my late mother used to say ‘you’re not sugar you won’t melt!)
We believe our lives are dramas; you only have to listen to people on their mobiles – with their boyfriend problems, girlfriend problems, boss problems, colleague problems, spouse problems – frankly I don’t want to hear it)
These people are what I call ‘hooveres’ ‘negative ninnies’; naysayers; ‘thought vampires’
Whatever you call them they drain you of your enthusiasm, your energy. They suck the life out of you.
And the trouble with them is so often we say ‘oh but maybe they’re right’ and ‘why should I bother?’
And before you know it you’re in the decline and they’ve won.
What would happen if you said “I’m just going to let it be”; what’s the worst case scenario here?
Could your life become easier? I think so.
It’s not the problem its’ how you deal with it.

But it can be a very painful process, the letting go, and people have to be ready and willing to make the changes. Affirmations are wonderful tools but useless without that one major ingredient – Action!
