Finding a solution to back pain or sciatica can be a real dilemma for many people. Often the conventional treatments readily available don’t provide the relief you need and pretty soon the pain starts to impact on your lifestyle to the point where you can’t function normally and get through all the things you have to do in a day without debilitating back Pain or worse, sciatic nerve pain down the leg.

By then what often starts out as a simple enough case of ‘typical’ back pain or sciatica, turns into a vicious cycle. To get relief you are told to stretch and exercise but these things often cause the pain to be irritated and make you feel much worse.

Past stretching, exercise and medication, there is very little conservative treatment being offered.

The drug solution works for some, but only to dull the back pain or sciatica and as soon as you stop taking them the pain often returns with a vengeance. Many drugs also cause you to be drowsy or feel unwell and so for that reason many people resist them.

In today’s typically rushed, high stress world, having back pain or bad sciatica is not an easy thing to cope with. The first thing a sufferer should do is take time out and rest but often this is not possible. Without the rest, the pain continues to hang around and often get worse, but people invariably can’t take the time out to properly recover because they have family to care for, an important job or just too many things to do.

If it were just a few days it might not be so bad, but often back pain and sciatica hangs around for many months and the longer it does the more entrenched in the body the pain and problem becomes.

One of the main reasons back pain and sciatica does not clear up quickly with conventional treatments, is because the treatments are not really dealing with the underlying cause of the problem.

Instead they are all very symptom based and often fail to take into account the critical part the mechanics of the body and spine play in setting up the problem. The symptoms that are felt are more often than not, just a product of an out of balance muscle system.

Often ending up with ongoing back pain or sciatica without a simple enough solution causes people to turn to surgery. Unfortunately this is often a misguided decision because again, it doesn’t deal with the real cause of the problem and is only a band aid treatment targeting the symptoms.

A more natural, effective way of addressing the symptoms so that you can spend time relatively or even completely pain free, long enough to deal with these underlying muscle imbalances, is to take pressure off the spine by working on the erector spinae muscles.

To do this, there is a great video demonstration provided online for free to anyone who is looking for some fast instant pain relief. Although this can be a temporary solution in itself for some, it does provide you with time to seek the right treatment for a longer term fix – without the nagging pain.
