Social marketing is one of the newest strategies/tools out there today, when you are choosing a social network you need to keep awareness of the people you are targeting. The idea is to interact with people who already share the same interests as you (this way you are already hitting your targeted market.

Firstly you need to get a basic understanding of how each social site works, sites such as Twitter, and You Tube are a good place to start.

You need to connect with people, create relationships and eventually you will build an alliance of friends who can help you with your affiliate marketing campaign.

When you are utilising the social sites you need to use them meaningfully, don’t just post boring updates because posts such as “I’m having a tasty dinner right now” is no use to anyway and to be quite brutal its frankly a complete waste of time, yours for writing it and the potential customers for reading it.

You need to be as interesting and informative as you can, post things about new exciting products that you have found or something interesting that happened to you to help boost your business, this way you will notice more people will check you out and the more they will visit your website and be potentially be more interested in what it is you are trying to market / sell.

Last but not least you must be consistent, it is so important that you use the sites regularly and update your posts as often as every other day. Most people make the big mistake of updating their blog every other day for a few weeks then just stop? When this happens people easily forget you! And you certainly do not want that to happen.

Just remember – be informative about interesting things and update you post on a regular basis and you will definitely gain tangible results.
