Remember when you didn’t have a care in the world? Sure it may have been way back when Reagan was President but there is a way to reclaim your happiness and live a life you love.
Here are 8 tips to help you live the good life.
1. Accept what is. Look at your reality and accept wherever you are. To resist it, pretend or wish things were different, only keeps you stuck. When you embrace where you are, you begin to clearly see what needs to change in order to move towards living a happier, more fulfilling and peaceful life.
2. Notice the abundance already around you. If you’re living your life thinking you’ll be happy when… (you make more money, lose more weight, fall in love etc) you’ll be in a constant state of frustration and disappointment. Instead, adopt the attitude that you already have everything you need. When you notice and are grateful for the little things that already exist around you, you give off an abundant energy and the universe will match these vibes and give you more of the same.
3. Protect your dreams. It takes courage, patience and persistence to dream big and go after them. Your dreams are important and whatever they are, they matter to you. The last thing you need is someone else crushing your dream because they’re too afraid to go after their own. Make sure you share your vision with people that will support and encourage you. Find an accountability partner, mentor or coach who will help motivate and inspire you to keep on keeping on.
4. Learn to surrender. We hold on so tightly because we’re afraid to let go. Stepping out of our safe comfort zone feels risky and scary and we’re moving toward uncharted territory. But you know in your heart, the magic resides on the other side. Detach yourself from the outcome and trust in the process.
5. Be open to the possibilities. You may think you know what you want and what’s best for you. Just be open to other opportunities that may come your way. When you keep an open mind, you allow new things and people to flow into your life that could lead you down a new and exciting path.
6. Know that you can. When you’re feeling defeated, deflated and just wanting to give up, walk away and come back when you’re feeling ready to tackle life again. Take a deep breath and decide that you will find what you are looking for. When you decide with conviction to take on whatever challenges you, the help and answers you seek, always appear.
7. Help others. The fastest way to feel better is to help someone else in need. Whether that’s lending an ear to a child, a shoulder to a friend or donating your time to a worthy cause, being kind and compassionate to others makes a huge difference in the lives of everyone involved.
8. Love and respect yourself first. So many women give to their family with all their hearts and in the process put themselves and their needs last. In order to be your best, you have to save some love and respect for yourself. Pay attention to your needs, wants and desires and then honour these requests with the same loving attention that you would if they came from your own children.
