Everybody wants a good memory power but not able to get it. But with the help of some photos, mnemonics people try to increase the memory. There are lots of other options that will help to improve your memory.

The first thing to improve your memory is that you should not underestimate your memory power. Some people say that they are very bad in remembering numbers while some say that they forget names easily. Stop this thought to come into your mind. Instead you should think positive about your memory power that you have good memory and you can increase it more.

Association of anything with another thing is a very good technique. Cramming can be done but this is successful only if you want to retain the matter for a shorter duartion.For longer memory you must cram after properly knowing the meaning of it. Giving space between studies is important so that proper encoding can be done and information can be stored in the long-term memory.

Some people have the habit to forget where they have kept their spectacles and keys and they take it as they have very bad memory. But this is not true you should develop a habit of keeping the spectacles and the keys at one place daily. Start using a planner or organizer in your cell phone to stay organized in your life. This will help you to be punctual, planned and well organized and the fact that you have a bad memory will be out of your mind.

Breathe deep into your abdomen and slow down your breathing when you are studying something new as this will change the way your brain will work. The electrical pulses of the brain will be switched to theta waves. These waves come when the brain is in hypnologic sleep. In this phase the noises from outside affects the dreams and this phase helps in improving the memory. This is the reason that some thing that you have forgotten one day, the next day will come into your mind automatically.

The brain exercises should be done so that your brain stays active and memory power grows up. You should involve yourself daily into new learning things, puzzles etc.
