New Network Marketing Opportunity Pitfalls

You might be new to network marketing or you might have been doing it for a while, but there are things that should be analyzed prior to selecting a new network marketing company. These kinds of companies come and go all the time....you have to ensure that you don't get on a losing team (making all your blood and tears for naught).

Because of the Internet, you can now do much better research when picking a new network marketing company. You can now truly do your due diligence before investing even a single dollar in a new company, making sure that you make the right choice for you. And now is the best time to get into network marketing. Both Donald Trump and Robert Kiyosaki agree that network marketing is a great way to not only earn extra income, but also to create wealth.

The key to success is doing it properly, but no matter how well you work your business, if the company goes out of business, you have to start all over again. So to ensure that that doesn't happen to you, make sure the company sells a product that everyone (at least a large portion of society) wants or needs and will always want or need it. For example, selling a product or service that is just a passing fad could make you a great deal of money in the short term, but you can never build true wealth.

Many New Network Marketing Companies Start Every Month

New network marketing companies surface all the time all over the world. Even though the Internet makes it easier to research them, the Internet also makes you aware of all the new companies starting up every month.

Once you do find a company that does seem to fit you and your requirements, be sure to monitor the companies’ websites and news about them. Be mindful of how much they are spending on advertising and how they are advertising (online, print, TV, etc.). Large advertising budgets help you in marketing your own business, but if they overspend, they could also fail.

Be wary of blogs though. Many blogs have ulterior motives when they either advocate for or advocate against a particular company. Other times, they are just whining (if they spent as much time working their business as they do whining, maybe they would be successful :) ). It doesn’t mean to say that what they are saying on the blog isn’t accurate. Create a dialog and find out for yourself.

New to Networking? Watch Out

If you are new to networking (and even veterans can have this same problem), don’t go out and spend all your money on finding gurus who will give you the “secret to success” in a $27 eBook. You’ll end up paying much more in the end for any valuable information (the $27 is usually to just get you in the door). Next it will be $97 for a course, then $197/mo. for coaching calls and $997 (if not more) for the next “millionaire mastermind”. Sometimes, but not always, these so-called gurus make their money from selling eBooks, not from network marketing. Don’t let promising of overnight success sway you (there is no such thing as get rich quick in network marketing).

A great suggestion is get into a company that has been around for a while…one that has a proven success system…and find someone in your upline that has the success that you want to achieve. Copy everything they are doing and do whatever that person tells you to do. They have figured out a way to be successful in that business, so if you follow in their footsteps, you’ll be successful too.

Now to the most important part: marketing. How do you intend to market this new network marketing company? Do you have the time, skills, and tools necessary to get a steady stream of new leads and prospects? You see, this part is way more important than whatever company you choose. Leads are the lifeblood of any business. You have to have a method of collecting, sorting, and converting your leads.

One method of doing such marketing is to do it all yourself. You can buy a genealogy list, cold call everyone on it, and hope you have a winner somewhere on that list. I’ve got to tell you that this is the fastest way to failure. Another method is embracing online lead generation systems that reduce advertising expenses, has a system in place to weed out the tire kickers, and is able to attract new leads to you on a regular basis.

Yes, you’ll still have the tire kickers, but now you won’t have to deal them as much and you can spend your time on building your business instead of cold calling.
