Have you ever felt as if "God or Goddess" pulled the carpet out from under your feet? Well, recently, this is what happened to me. Living in challenging times you say, you betcha.

I had just started a new job a few months ago, one that I actually liked and felt good with. A job I had waited 6 months to get and one I really felt had my name on it. I finally felt as if I could just relax a bit about my finances and moving and catch up with my bills etc. So there I am at work learning new things and then bam I blew it. I made a huge mistake with a customer and my boss got triggered and reacted entirely from his emotions and I was fired. Just like that. The carpet was pulled out from under my feet by the universe.

So how did I respond, since it is the way we respond that is everything. Well the first thing I did was to speak with my boss and to apologize and to let him know that even though I had made this mistake, that could have cost the company money, that I learn from my errors and I am very capable and have the skills to deal with people better. I stuck up for myself in a way I have never done before. It may even turn out in the future that I get rehired but for now it was enough to just leave having said what I needed to say.

So the first lesson I learned from this was how to speak up for myself and do so with total responsibility and authenticity.

The second lesson I learned from this experience was how to go with the flow of my life. I know you may have heard that term, "go with the flow" especially in the 60's and 70's for some of us. But it is a very apt phrase when you are trying to understand how to manifest what you do want and stop struggling or resisting what you don't.

I was watching a great Abraham video which used a perfect metaphor for this. They shared that when you are river rafting you really don't want to go upstream or hit any large rocks or you could be capsized even severley bruised and battered. What you do want to do is go downstream and navigate around the rocks. Well, this same thing applies to life. Always go where there is the least resistance and with the flow of how your life is showing up for you. Your soul is always giving you messages sometimes big sometimes small but when you go against the current of what you really are supposed to be doing, you will either; capsize, feel battered and bruised, create a really big incident to get you back on track or continue to struggle to no avail. The universe is leading you, which by the way you already asked it to do,so just pay attention and go with the flow. For me it was losing my job, the one I thought I really wanted.

Well my soul, the universe or whatever you wish to call it had different plans for me. I hit a big bump and then capsized for about 4 days, I did all the things I knew I could to help to go with the flow of what my soul was telling me to do. Now again on the surface it did not look like what I thought I wanted but on a deeper level I did or I would not have created the experience.

The third thing was to always seek the big picture of whatever happens to you. From our small perspective we have a very limited view. But when you can ask your higher self, I Am self, guides or whomever you work with to give you the bigger picture, you will be able to step out of your immediate experience and see the larger reason for that particular incident happening to you. This allows you to have distance from the situation and often helps you to relax and accept what is.

I was also reminded that the Law of Attraction works no matter what and so whatever your vibration is in the moment is what you will call in to experience. So if I also had a belief that said that "the other shoe was going to drop" or "I can't let myself trust the good things that happen to me", and I allow myself to focus on that thought, I would eventually, and these days it is pretty fast, create an experience to match those thought vibrations.

But if you do have any negative thoughts that do arise you can easily stop them by focusing on what you do want and by just appreciating what you do have.

So remember the "path of least resistance" is always the best way to go when you hit a bump in the road of life, or in my case a brick gets thrown at you.
