Wouldn't you like to work in a workplace that appreciated you and your contributions? This is something that we all want, and more and more employees are becoming increasingly vocal about their desire to feel appreciated. March is Employee Spirit Month, which is geared towards getting management, whether its CEOs, managers or other executives, to get their employees inspired and motivated. The idea is that through emphasizing this type of involvement, Employee Spirit Month will elevate the organization as a whole.

As a prospective employee, seeing that a particular organization embraces Employee Spirit Month could be a good sign. Why? A company that is outwardly embracing the concept of employee spirit is one that is more likely to take employee feedback more seriously and may even be one that sees internal promotion in a positive light. This is a point that many overlook when seeking a job, but from a long term perspective, it could be of paramount importance for your ultimate happiness and success.

Look for Indicators

Your satisfaction within a given company is based a wide range of variables. It is in your best interest to look for as many indicators, both large and small, as to the "corporate climate" of a given company. Seeing how a company approaches Employee Spirit Month could be an easy way for you to gain some degree of insight as to how a given company interacts with its employees as a whole.

If you are going to reach your full potential, you need certain factors to be in place. A company that isn't open to your progression both as an individual and also within their company specifically might not be one that you wish to work for over the long haul. Again, employees are beginning to expect more, and this is definitely the case for those that go far beyond the "call of duty." If you think this sounds like you, then you will want to look for different ways to determine a company's general climate and attitude towards its employees before accepting a job. In the long run, you'll be glad that you did!
