If you have a double chin, I am sure that many people must have joked about it. You probably also feel frustrated with the way you look; it is probably making you look really chubby and overweight. The worst part about being overweight is having double chin. This is because you may be able to hide a flabby stomach with baggy clothes but there is absolutely nothing you can do to hide your it!

You having a double chin can be a result of several possible reasons. First of all, there may be loose skin all around your neck area. Secondly, it is possible that you have fats accumulated around your neck area. This is not different from how fats are usually accumulated around the belly area. Most people have a double chin due to the second reason; which is having fats around their chin area. Unless you are above 50 or 60 years of age, chances are that your double chin is due to fats and not saggy skin.

If that sounds like you, you are actually in luck! With several simple lifestyle changes, you will find that these fats deposited at your chin area can be lost rather quickly! The following are some tips to help you reduce your double chin.

First of all, this phenomenon could be caused by an accumulation of excess fluid. It can be a sign of a poor lymphatic system. You can solve this problem by massaging that area. You should put your thumbs beneath your jaw line with your fingers resting on the bone itself. You will then move our thumb up towards your ears with firm strokes.

Just like any other part of your body, your jaw and neck muscles should also be worked out if you want to tone that area up! There are actually 35 individual muscles at your chin. A simple exercise to work out your chin area will be to move your head up and down as well as from side to side.

Next, if you are not used to moving your jaws much, you should start right now. Learn to laugh with more exaggerated jaw movements. Eat chewy foods. All these simple motions will help you work out your facial muscles and lose that unsightly double chin!

Finally, you should be truthful with yourself. Most people have fat necks because they are overweight in general. If you lose body fats in general, you will also be able to get rid of your undesirable double chins!
