Draw a soccer ball Using Corel Draw

Corel Draw is a very interesting tool. You can learn most of the drawing techniques using Corel Draw. All you need is to think outside the box! It has many tools, colors and options related to this. You can create whatever image you can see with the mind’s eye or you can make several interesting logos.

There are some tricks to use these tools effectively and efficiently, but here we are going to discuss a technique of making a soccer ball. You can also make it with different other methods too.

Method

I am going to explain this for Corel Draw X5.

Step 1: Take ellipse tool from the toolbar or press “F7”. Draw a circle with a help of this tool. The measurement of the circle depends on you.

Step 2: Draw a pentagon in the centre of the circle with the help of polygon tool. You will find this tool in the toolbar or just press “Y”. Fill black color in the pentagon, using CMYK color palette. The pentagon should not be very small. If you want to get rough idea of size you can download a simple .jpg image of live soccer ball. Drag and drop this .jpg file on the page of Corel Draw, you are using to make drawing of a soccer ball.

Step 3: Draw five hexagons, one on each side of your pentagon. Fill white color and be careful about the measurements because all the objects should not overlap each other. Now it will look like a flower of pentagon and hexagons. If you face any kind of problem regarding angles of your shape, you can change dimensions and can rotate your shape by availing the options in the property bar.

Step 4: Now select the circle and fill black color in it. If it is on the front of other objects you have drawn. Select your circle and press “shift + page down” to bring the selected object back to other objects.

Step 5: Final step is to use the “straight line connector tool”. With the help of this tool join lines from the edges of hexagons (making “V” shape) and join it with the boundary live of the circle. Now use smart fill tool and fill white color in one part by specifying it with the help of mouse pointer. Leave one part as black and fill the other one with white color again. Continue this, until you find can see a perfect soccer ball.

Now you can also add effects on it like shading, transparency, envelope tool or distort tool, etc. You will find all these tools from toolbar by pressing left mouse button and holding it for 2 seconds.
