One of the biggest expenses is the entertainment expense. Whether you are single or married you may go on dates from time to time. Most single couples may go out three or four times a week and married couples may go out one to four times a week depending on if they have kids or not. I have met with so many people and entertainment expense has been a expense that they didn’t realize how much they were spending on it. There are many dates that people can go out on and it won’t break your bank. Here are some ideas;
Dating Ideas on a Budget
There are many fun things to do on a date that you won’t need to get a loan for. If you are single or married you need to be able to discuss the need to stay with in your budget. Today most couples both have income coming in, so there is no need for just one person to pay for everything. I know this can be a controversial subject to some. Some may be old fashion on this subject. But most singles that are dating have there own bills and own income. So it is important to both respect there partners and think about dividing up who pays. For married couples they need to decide on their budget for entertainment expense.
I have seen some people when dating do most of the spending which has caused them to have financial distress. I have had people say that there date wanted to always to expensive things such as plays, hotel stays, eating at trendy restaurants and more. They said it would be nothing to spend $200 a week on dating. Most people spending this much money are living beyond there budget and headed for financial troubles. So here dates to possibly go on for less than $20 and not go broke;
Date Ideas under $20
1. Go for a walk in the park.
2. Go to the movies on the discount night or buy discount tickets at work if available.
3. Go to Happy Hour for drinks.
4. Go to a Community Play or a School Play.
5. Go to a park with live music from local entertainment.
6. Go for a bike ride together.
7. Go to the beach together.
8. Have a picnic in the park.
9. Attend a 4-H Fair.
10. Have a bonfire on a beach.
11. Share a milkshake at a Ice Cream store.
12. Gather seashells by the seashore.
13. Play checkers in a country store.
14. Go for a car drive to look at the fall leaves. Then bury each other in the fall leaves.
15. Go swing dancing or fast dance at a hot night club.
16. Go bowling.
17. Go play pool.
18. Enjoy a walk in the rain on a summer day.
19. Wander through a nearby state park.
20. Make a homemade Pizza
21. Go Ice Shaking at a local skate park.
22. Go to the Zoo.
23. See the latest museum exhibit.
24. Go play a round of Miniature Golf.
25. Go on a scavenger hunt.
26. Do a volunteer event, it will make you both feel good to help others in need.
The list could go on. These are just some samples. I have faith that couples could come up with a list of fun things to do on a date for under $20.
Dating is Important in all relationships
I am not suggesting to stay at home every week and never go out. I would never suggest such a thing. I feel whether you are single or married or have kids or not that you need to go out at least once a week to help keep the relationship alive. To be able to show each other how important they are. But doing this doesn’t need to break you both.
I know some people have very strong feelings on this subject. But I know from helping so many people with there home budgets that this is a very large controllable expense. Let me know your thoughts and ideas.
