Contemplation - An Enlightening Poem

When quiet moments finally overtake
The harshness of the day and
Moonbeams replace traffic lights,
I ask myself:
Who am I?
Why am I here?
Shouldn’t I be doing something?
As day after day races past me
And my life flees like a rabbit
Freed from its cage, I wonder:
What is worthy of my time?
I seem to have so little.
What do I value?
What thief steals in the night
My richest treasure? My life!

Another day dawns And off I race.
I sit and write checks to pay for
Services and goods already received,
But then halt because
Although the bills flow like the
Incoming tide, the numbers in my
Little checkbook deplete.
I wonder if I am just a lost soul.
The world around me slumbers as
I lie awake still watching the night lights
Reflecting on the pond outside my window
And dream of a gentler way;
A world where human life has value and joy.
And so I reach deeply within,
To that place where infinite wisdom resides,
to ask,
“Father/Mother, Creator and Source
of all life and intelligence,
Tell me, I pray, how do I live wisely and usefully
That I may not reach the end of my days
In regret and shame?
For I fear that is where my life is going.”

As I lie there in silence,
I can feel the gentle breeze
From the wings of the angels that watch over me.
Soft voices in the stillness of my mind
Speaking words of love and encouragement.

YOU MUST MASTER YOUR OWN MIND.
THERE IS NOTHING MORE IMPORTANT
FOR YOU TO DO HERE.

“How do I do that?” I ask.

“LIVE FROM A PLACE OF
WISDOM, TRUST AND LOVE.
BANISH FEAR.
LET EVERY MOTIVE BE UNITY
WITH YOUR SOURCE AND ALL LIFE.
NOTHING LESS IS WORTHY OF A SOUL.”

“And how do I start?”

“BEGIN NOW. LISTEN AND LEARN IN SILENCE,
BUILD CHARACTER IN THE STREAM OF LIFE
WHERE YOU CAN FACEYOUR OWN FOOLISHNESS
DISGUISED AS ANOTHER’S DEEDS.
LEARN TO BE LOVE IN ACTION.”

“Wow,” thought I.
“Answers from angels; wisdom on wings.
I shall write of love and life and purpose.
I shall know where I am going and why!
Ah, Merciful Divine Father/Mother, teach me
To live love. I am ready.”
Here is the wisdom that flowed from heaven
to this humble man...

PRAISE HEAVEN AND EARTH
AND ALL THEREIN.
WE NEED TO BE SAVED...
FROM OUR OWN FEARS AND NOTHING ELSE!
WE NEED ONLY TWO TOOLS FOR COMPLETE SUCCESS.
A LOVING HEART AND A
PEACEFUL, WILLING MIND.

Read on, the adventure continues...

All things are One.
There is creator and creation, One.
There is Life and Intelligence, One.
There is Love and Law, One.
There is black and white, One.
There is male and female, One.
There is Energy and Consciousness, One.
One Universe, One People
whose Source is the only One;
The All There Is.

Observe absolutes and relatives.
Absolutes are unseen and unchangeable.
Relatives are viewed physically,
Subject to our perceptions, and have their
Reality compromised by our belief systems.

Reality is so powerful that we
Need not subject that which is seen to the unseen,
For the unseen and the visible
are both real and indestructible.
Only the illusion dies.
The reality it symbolizes continues.
For now, both are necessary.
Release what used to be and open your mind
To the wonder of the presence of now.
What could be, already is.
It awaits only your observation.

WE ARE HERE TO VIEW WITH AWE,
THE VASTNESS OF CREATION.
WE CAN GIVE UP OUR CONTROLS.
LET GO OF EVERY EARTHLY DEMAND
FOR JUST A MOMENT AND KNOW
WHAT IT MEANS TO BE FREE!
