All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) will be conducting CMAT 2012 as one of the most esteemed entrance examinations for admission in 500 colleges offering postgraduate diploma in management, and 4000 colleges offering degree in MBA. More than 4000 prestigious colleges and institutions, recognized by AICTE, are expected to accept the admission of successful candidates qualifying in common management entrance examination. According to AICTE sources, approximately around 1.6 lakh admission seats are available across different management institutions in India, through the Common Management Admission Test. CAT 2012 is another prestigious entrance examinations for getting selected in India’s most esteemed IIMs.

It is expected that about 250,000 candidates from across India and abroad, will be appearing for CMAT 2012. The test will be held from 20th February 2012 onwards to 28th February 2012, across 61 cities in India. The candidates have the option to choose the exam location and date as prescribed in the examination notification. For the admission procedure, the applicant can pick a maximum of three cities from different locations available in the list, and it is on the basis of first-come-first-serve that the seat allotment will be facilitated. The examination fee for MBA entrance examination is Rs.1200 + bank charges for General and OBC candidates, while it is Rs.600 + bank charges for SC/ST/PD candidates. The applications can either pay online through net banking, debit or credit card, or pay in cash through the payment challan available in the advertisement, and deposited in any State Bank of India branch.

Common Management Admission Test is one of the most sought after and esteemed management exams in India today. The test comprises of four sections: Language comprehension, Data Interpretation and Quantitative techniques, Logical Reasoning, and General Awareness. Each section comprises of 25 questions for marks of 100, and the total time duration is 3 hours. There will be a negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong answer. The test result and notification on issuance of score card will be available on AICTE website. You can also seek admission in the most prestigious IIMs by applying for CAT 2012.
