Are You Blocking Love

The vision of the perfect life we all dream of is one in which there is a harmony between our love life and our career pursuit. Managing a career is not easy, throw a relationship into the mix and you have a conundrum. Having a man in your life does not necessarily mean giving up your career. He's not that much of a bug, is he? Lol! While you may sometimes want to have a day off work to spend quality time with your boyfriend, having a strong relationship does not necessarily mean your career goals have to suffer. In fact research has shown that people who do not allow their career block their love life are more successful, wealthier, healthier and live longer. So being focused on your career is not an excuse to let your love life suffer.

So how can you blend your career and love life? The following tips would help you achieve this without running mad.

PRIORITIZE

In life, we usually out of habit than necessity, put more weight on one thing over another. Often, this shift in priority means forgoing one thing for another. In this case, weakening your love life in pursuit of career excellence. But you shouldn’t sacrifice finding love for anything, not even for some career success, because at the end of the day, your success would mean nothing if you have nobody to share it with.

Prioritizing does implies adjustment and not sacrifice. With adjustment, you can strike a balance that strengthens the foundation of your love and work life. In addition, prioritizing is a form of preparation for living with your mate. Don’t let your career keep you away from love. No amount of money you make can be a substitute to the love of a significant other. Let your body language show that you desire to fall in love again and that you are ready for a relationship. Men would read your body language towards work and love to decide whether to approach you or leave you alone.

COMPARTMENTALIZE

Your love life and work are two separate worlds. Striking a balance between both is necessary, if there is an imbalance, you would not be able to enjoy the best of both worlds. Let work time be work time. This is the time to commit fully to your co-workers and needs of your manager. There’s plenty of time to spend being productive during work hours. But when you are back home and with your man, keep away the blackberry, stop any talk about work or keep it to the barest minimum. Instead focus on activities that involve both of you. You need some time to take your mind off the day’s stress and this is the time, don't spoil it for the both of you.

CONNECT WITH PEOPLE ONLINE

If you are so busy working, it is difficult meeting people. You can turn to social networking to connect to people on the internet. Spending time at the office is unavoidable but ruining your chances of finding love because of that is completely avoidable. Use your free time to send and reply private messages. A quick reply every now and then would do just fine, after all when you get off from work, you have enough time to chat and arrange a meet. If you are already in a relationship, these messages would do well to show that you are thinking of him always and not carried away with work.

Success minded people know the greatest way to achieve success is knowing how to balance everything in life. However, no matter how you manage time and situations, there will always be an order of priority of what you want in life. Just know how and when to access your goals, where and what you want to be and plan accordingly so that there will always be time for that important person.
