There's a new smartphone app for anger management. The phone app includes inspirational videos and messages and a journal to keep track of one's progress. While anything that helps people gain control of their anger is good, you don't really need a smartphone app for anger management.

Do you find yourself flying off the handle at the drop of a hat? Perhaps taking steps towards getting control of your anger is something that you would find helpful. It is important to note that anger control is something that doesn't come overnight but needs to be practiced every day. If you never remember to practice these techniques until after you've blown a gasket it won't do any good.

When you are really upset, it's hard to remember that you're not seeing the big picture. We all tend to zero in on the negative aspects of a situation or person and ignore the positive ones. It might help to remember that you only have half the facts at such times and that can make it easier to postpone taking actions in the heat of the moment that you may later regret.

This is why you've so often heard the advice to walk away from a situation that is making you very angry. The more physical and emotional distance you can put between yourself and whatever is upsetting you, the better your chances for avoiding a meltdown.

It's okay to ask for what you need, even if it's only time and space to calm down and think more clearly.

Consider whether it's possible that the real reason you are angry is something relatively unrelated to the situation at hand. Are there other issues in the relationship such as feelings of insecurity or jealousy that are not being addressed? Some self reflection may be in order.

Building good communications skills is the basis of anger control and it's also something that comes with practice. Are you able to be totally honest with yourself and your partner? Learning how to improve your communication skills and express your needs and feelings in a way that does not threaten other people is something that you can begin to learn in an anger management class.

These are just some of the things you can learn in an anger management course. Try looking for one near you and make anger management part of your daily routine, anytime, any where.
