In today’s society we use social media more and more. Even fortune 500 companies use social media in their marketing strategies. The one common denominator that everyone has who understands social media is a “Blog”. Yes I said blog. This article will help you better understand why all social media outlets have a blog.

I’m sure you read a blog post at least once a week. Sometimes people don’t even realize when they are reading a blog. That’s right many people rely on blog post to give them news, recipes, tips and gossip.

So, what exactly is a blog? Many people have there on definition so here is mine. A blog is an online journal on topics of the authors choosing.

I don’t think there is one well known website that doesn’t have a blog. The post normally reflects the purpose of the site. Many companies post articles about new products, training, tips, services and contest. These posts are then disturbed across the Internet. Now when you click on the post it’s get rerouted back to the original blog.

Now because of your blog post being on other social sites your site receives more traffic. Who doesn’t want more traffic? A good post will help individuals revisit your blog, which leads to loyal readers and subscribers.

Some post will be shared automatically depending on the content. However, you should never rely on that. Let other know about your new post through other social channels. Always post a message letting your friends and followers know. Encourage them to automatically follow your blog and provide comments. Always reply to any comment posted on your blog this will encourage interaction with your readers.

The comments provided will also give you insight on your reader’s mindset, needs, challenges and preferences. You can also go as far as running a contest for you followers.

Always provide as much value to your content as possible. After writing a post you should always be able to answer the following questions.

* Do you have an effective title based on the information provide?

* Are you answering a question or providing tips?

Your blog will also help you build public trust. Your content should be things your readers can use in their day-to-day business or life. You will also be building your brand. The better your brand the more business you will attract. Your blog will help you become the go to person in your industry.

Always remember valuable content is key…..
