Today’s FDA report that flibanserin, the “female Viagra,” doesn’t work comes as no surprise to anyone who understands the differences in the male and female brains.

In a race to grab an estimated $2 billion market, pharmaceutical researchers are relying on traditional techniques to find the “little pink pill” that will boost female sexual desire.

Well, they’re definitely playing the wrong organ.
For females, it all begins in the brain. Somehow it seems that the more highly dense corpus callosums of male researchers are standing in the way of accepting the idea that for women, it’s not between their legs, it’s between their ears.

It’s one of the great joys of life that men and women are different.

Consider this. When a man seeks help for sexual dysfunction, his complaint is usually erectile dysfunction. For a woman with the same issue, the complaint is “I want a more satisfying relationship.”

The libido (or sexual desire) is not a physical place in your body that can be fixed like a kidney. Libido is your total life force. In fact the dictionary definition of “libido” is “instinctual psychic energy.”

Human sexuality is not an isolated, independent dimension of who we are. Each of us acts out our sexuality as an expression of our total life force; as an expression of brain balance.

Difficulties in sexual expression are often a result of a brain imbalance. A brain imbalance can occur whenever someone has had a potentially life-threatening experience – what we refer to as a “trauma.” Whether it’s a birth trauma, alcoholic parents, the death of a loved one, a car accident, a physical injury or a broken heart, we all experience some form of trauma. The result can be sexual dysfunction, anxiety, anger, depression, addictions, sleep problems, digestive problems, and sometimes even stroke, heart disease and diabetes. These are the results you “see.” The trauma to your brain is the invisible wound that must be addressed.

What we do with Brainwave Optimization™ is balance the brain and strengthen abilities for relaxation and self-regulation. When a woman is relaxed, she is more content and more “in the moment,” hence being more fully able to experience and respond to sensual pleasure.

The physical nature of the male brain allows a man to move faster from sensing to execution. (i.e.,“You make me hot. Let’s have sex.”) A woman, on the other hand, starts with sensing and moves to discerning. (i.e., “I feel hot. He looks a little like my last boyfriend. Will he like my hair? I wonder what he does for a living.”) That said, a woman who is stepping into a sexual moment may not be able to block out all the context. (“I have to pick up the kids in an hour. I need to be up early to get to a meeting. I didn’t have time to get my nails done.”) A balanced brain will enable the overwhelmed woman to minimize the static and enjoy the act at hand.

Hundreds of clients have found that Brainwave Optimization™ their love lives improve. This is the result, in fact, of stronger self-love, better self-care and an all-around renewed joy in life.

To further inspire romantic activity, women often report that they feel more attractive after brain balancing and usually really do look more attractive. Coming to a place of brain balance and harmony means getting out of the grips of stress. Tension eases. The jaw loosens. Lines diminish and eyes soften. Happiness shows.

Props to female urologist Dr. Elizabeth Kavaler who is reported to have said that it may be unrealistic to expect a pill to address women’s sexual problems. Different from men, it’s not about a mechanical concern, she says, so if there’s no mechanical concern, what’s the problem?

It’s all in her head. For a woman, the brain is definitely the hot-spot. When the brain is balanced, the auto-immune system is healthy, the body feels good. Sex becomes the natural, healthy expression of a balanced brain

Author's Bio:

Lee Gerdes, Founder and CEO of Brain State Technologies®, is the creator of the cutting edge technology Brainwave Optimization with Real-Time Balancing™, which is transforming lives all over the world.

As the author of Limitless You: The Infinite Possibilities of a Balanced Brain, published in 2009 by Namaste Publishing and now in soft cover, Lee's work emanates from a combination of his interests in how the brain works and its effect on mind, body, and spirit, coupled with his personal experience of trauma in the form of a violent assault in 1992.

This effort has now evolved into the neuro-technology known as Brainwave Optimization™, which is produced and distributed by Brain State Technologies®, with nearly 200 affiliate offices in 18 countries worldwide serving over 50,000 clients.

As a result of this trauma, in 2000 Lee began working with his own brain to relieve post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). His success in overcoming the effects of trauma led him to dedicate his life to understanding neuroplasticity (the ability of the brain to change itself) and how the breakthrough insights of neuroscience can be applied to improve peoples’ lives. His work is daily proof that by optimizing our brain, we can optimize our entire life, empowering us to "at last be the limitless individuals we were born to be." www.brainstatetech.com
