It is a “given” that any good affiliate marketer is constantly looking for markets that are successful enough to give the biggest paycheck possible. So it’s tempting for an affiliate marketer to think that there is some magic formula that, if they only can find it, will guarantee this kind of success. In real life, as always, it is a bit more complicated that that. The fact is that what will bring success are the good marketing practices that have been proven through years of hard work and dedication.

Tried and true tactics that have worked in online marketing for years will work in the affiliate marketing world of today as well. For instance, here are our top three marketing tips. They are not magic, but with careful and steady application they will enable you to increase your sales so that you don’t just survive, but thrive, in the affiliate marketing game. So, here we go:

1. Use unique web pages to promote each separate product that you are marketing. Don’t lump all of them together just to save some money on web hosting. It is best to have a site that focuses on each and every specific product and on nothing else.

In addition, always include product reviews on the website so that visitors will have an initial understanding of what the product can do for the buyer. Include testimonials from users who have already tried the product. Be sure that these customers are willing to allow you to use their names and their photos on the site of the specific product that you are marketing.

It is a good idea to write articles that highlight the uses of the product. These may be included on the website as an additional page. Make the pages as attractive and compelling as possible. Include calls to act on the information. Each headline should invite a reader to find out more and even to contact you. Highlight your special points. This will help your readers to learn what the page is about and make them want to find out more.

2. Offer free reports to your readers. If possible, position these at the very topside of your page so it that they cannot be missed. Try to create autoresponder messages to be mailed to those who input their personal information into your sign up box. According to research, a sale is most often closed on the seventh contact with a prospect.

Only two things can possibly happen with the web page alone: the sale is closed sale or the prospect leaves the page and never returns again. Placing useful information in their inboxes at certain specified periods will remind them of the product. If they were interested in it once, they may be more interested later. Be sure that the content is directed toward specific reasons to buy the product and does not seem like just a “sales pitch.”

Focus on important points, such as how your product can make life easier and more enjoyable. Include compelling subject lines in the email. As much as possible, avoid using the word “free” because older spam filters may dump those things before they have a chance of being read. Your goal is to convince those who signed up for your free reports that they will be missing something big if they do not avail themselves of your products and services.

3. Get the kind of traffic that is targeted to your product. The fact is, if someone who visits your website has no interest whatsoever in what you are offering, they will be among those who move on and never come back.

Write articles for publication in e-zines and e-reports. In this way you can locate publications that focus on your target customers. What you have written, therefore, might just grab their interest.

Try to write a minimum of 2 articles per week of at least 300-600 words in length. By continuously writing and maintaining these articles you can generate as many as 100 targeted readers to your site in a day.

Statistics show that an average of 1 out of 100 people are likely to buy your product or service. This means that if you can generate 1,000 targeted hits for your website in a day, it is likely that you will make 10 sales.

These tactics are not really difficult for a motivated person to do. It just requires a little time and an action plan on your part.

Use these tips for several affiliate marketing programs. You can wind up with a good sustainable source of income and you can thrive in this business in a way that not all marketers will do. Above all, keep in mind the big paychecks you will be receiving when your work pays off!
