"How’s that business thing going?"

"Those things never work."

"You didn’t fall for that online gimmick, did you?"

If you’ve spent much time building your stay at home mom’s business opportunity, I’ll bet you’ve heard some of the statements above.

If you spent tons of hours in school or worked 80 hours a week to earn a raise, your friends and family would praise you for that. Yes you put the kids in day care and had a complete stranger raising them, but hey; look at what you did for YOU.

Yet, here you are, trying to take advantage of a stay at home mom’s business opportunity and you get scorn from those you care about. These are the people that should be buying your product regardless of if they want it or not simply to show you support. Instead, they tear you down every chance they get.

Let’s be honest, building a home business is has some major challenges. I have spent a number of years building a home business and helping others do the same. I can tell you from personal experience that the emotional toll of unsupportive family and friends is one of the greatest challenges in building a business. Yes, your children are worth it and that’s why you have decided to do this. However, it still stings when those close to you scorn you for simply trying to help your family and others.

You want those close to you to be supportive and encouraging instead of pulling you down, right? Just what will make those near you support you in your stay at home mom’s business opportunity? The answer is NOTHING.

Not what you expected to hear, right? Well, the truth is you must decide if your family and your future is worth putting up with negative comments from people you know. If they’re not, perhaps you should quit now. There is nothing you can do to MAKE people support you. Some will and some won’t. That will never change.

What will give you the greatest chance of turning your friends and family into supportive encouragement? In a word, success. There are many people who have been where you are now, friends and family making fun of them, who now enjoy tremendous success. Many of those previously negative people sing a different tune today.

One person I know of made well over $100,000 per year before his brother had a change of heart. That brother later joined the business and made over $100,000 per year himself. Just imagine if he let his brother get him down and cause him to quit.

Now, there is one problem that needs to be addressed if you decide to have success in your home based business regardless of what your friends and family say. If you are involved with a company that is worth anything, you were probably told to make a list and talk to your friends and family FIRST. What do you do if they all made fun of you and no one signed up?

When you have exhausted your warm market, you must move into your cold. This means advertising.

"Advertising??? How do I do that? I’m broke. No one I know signed up, remember?"

Yes, I remember. However, advertising does not have to cost ANY money. If you market on the internet, and you know what you’re doing, all your advertising is FREE.

Answer me this, if you could generate prospects EVERYDAY, for FREE, do you think you would have success? The truth is, even if you are terrible at your business, you can make up in numbers what you lack in skill. If your building your numbers does not cost you any money, you can sort through thousands of people or more with ease.

Answer this other question. When you have success, and those around you start to want to know more about what you do, do you think they would have a better chance if they could learn to market online and advertise for free? How would you feel if those closest to you also became financially independent because of you? I bet you’d feel pretty good. Wouldn’t that feeling almost by itself make the whole thing worth it?
