Fun Children's Recipe For Chips

You can purchase chips that are made with potatoes, salt, oil and 27 chemicals and added ingredients, or you can purchase chips that are just potatoes, salt and oil. The healthy chips are not usually any less calories and yet, it is unlikely you will be obsessed to eat as much, as the chemicals in many brands of chips cause your brain to want more. Find a brand of store-bought potato or veggie chips that is chemical-free that you like and stick with them. Sometimes I like to make my own for fun and flavor. This recipe is great fun to make with children. When kids cook before they are 12 they eat better their whole life.

Healthy Snack Veggie Chips

  • 1 red beet
  • 1 white potato
  • 1 sweet potato
  • 2 carrots
  • 1 parsnips
  • 2 Tbs olive oil
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • ½ tsp. dry oregano (or 1 tsp fresh)
  • ½ tsp. garlic or onion powder
  • Sprinkle of fresh ground pepper

      Wash and peel (or not if organic) the vegetables.
      Slice very thin.
      Pat dry with paper towel to remove moisture.
      In large bowl combine all ingredients and toss to coat all vegetables.
      Arrange on stoneware sheet pan and bake for 20-30 minutes at 375*.

      Give your children the gift of fine food and the passion for cooking. You can use any kind of root vegetable that you want when making these chips.
