I suspect you have heard the saying, “You have to go there to come back”.
Well I for one seem to have been going ‘There’ for quite a long time now But the trouble is... I don’t know where ‘There’ is! I am also not sure that I will recognise ‘There’ when I get there.
So how do I know when to start coming back? How do I know when I have turned that corner to the home straight? And of course, will my future be any the better for the experience?
Over the past 18 months, I have considered my decline from living a comfortable, married life, to one of potential solitude and a forced awakening inside. I have defined certain lows in my life, such as the realisation that I was the only person accountable for my actions and future. I truly believed that training my mind towards positivity would cure all negativity and steer me to my next high. I held on to that belief as I read and re-read the Secret by Rhonda Byrne, I reinforced it by reading the Abraham Hicks elaborations on abundance and sprinkled on a little feel good with the Aladdin factor by Mark Victor Hansen but, apart from little glimmers of abundance, my life was still very firmly in the decline.
Maybe I hadn’t learned my lesson yet. Maybe some forces were guiding me to a new low where I would never want to revisit. Maybe I needed to experience suffering for once in my life before I am allowed redemption, or Possibly I needed to expel all my fears before I could start the ascent to success.
Well, that might be true but as I say, I am still travelling ‘There’ right now and I think it’s time for me to come back.
I do believe in fate to a certain degree but I also believe that we create our own destiny and it is this creativity that delivers success. However at this moment, I know that I am still a bit lost. I know that I must have a purpose, but I just cannot ascertain what that purpose might be. I have a sense of giving deep inside, but I don’t know where or what to give. I have an urge for fulfilment, but it has no shape or concept right now.
So where do I go from here, what questions can arise from these facts?
A colleague told me last week, that I need to become empty inside before I can ever hope to become full again and before I can let the new energy flow into me and guide me to those new highs. I am sort of hoping it isn’t quite that radical as I am almost certain every day that I have bottomed out and that the renewal has now begun. I also don’t particularly want to fall any lower than I have already over these past few months.
As I try to evaluate this situation, I do believe that a positivity is essential in any event. One must focus upon the good, whether the bad keeps appearing or not. Because without those ambitions, life has no real purpose.
As we focus upon the good, some negative will undoubtedly appear on the horizon, but it will be kept in perspective by the belief that good is ahead.
I am not a religious man but faith is undoubtedly the motivator at times like this. Whether it is faith in a god or faith in a partner or faith in oneself, it is faith that will lead you to the journey back from ‘There’, wherever ‘There’ turned out to be.
I still don’t know whether I have arrived ‘There’ yet and I am almost certain that I have not. I still have a yearning in my life and I am sure that I will not return until that yearning is fulfilled.
As you listen to this podcast, you might be thinking that by the law of attraction, there is little wonder that negativity continues to flourish in my life, but negative isn’t a concept that I subscribe to. What I do understand however is that I must maintain a balance to move forward, I must eat healthily, I must sleep well, I must exercise, I must plan my time to avoid wasted effort, I must plan my spending to avoid wasted money, I must make choices to understand my journey completely.
Oh dear, now I know why I haven’t returned just yet, I still have so many parts of my life to work on and probably just thinking isn’t quite enough!
This short article is an abridge transcript of The Journey 05 podcast which is available on http://www.apassionforsuccess.com and details my journey to fulfilment, I hope.
