1. State accomplishments - what have you done in past positions that has made the company money, saved them money, found them time, saved them time or brought prestige to the organization or the brand? Do Now! List your three biggest accomplishments.

2. Numerate and dollarize results - of your accomplishments (e.g.) you saved the department $100,000 by devising a method to shortcut the review process making information available to customers in 24 hours rather than one week. Do Now! Go through your resume and place a dollar amount, percentage or numerical value result within each accomplishment listing.

3. Speak in high value terms - What do you bring to the job and how will it help your future employer in the near term and future? (e.g.) if you bring an in-depth, current and comprehensive knowledge of specific compliance issues in a field say so. Do Now! List 3 high value skills, competencies or abilities you bring to your work. These can be technological, managerial, knowledge base, language, relationships, experiences, etc.

4. Utilize keywords - Make sure you identify skills and responsibilities using exact industry terms and words employers would understand. These words and phrases are called your keywords. e.g. if you are a marketing specialist for customers who speak Spanish make sure you know whether Latino, Hispanic or Spanish-speaking is the best word/phrase. Do Now! Using keyword search tools (such as Google keyword) begin to create a powerful keyword list.
