Ebook publishing is one of the fastest growing niches in the media industry. Whether you’re an entrepreneur, salesperson, practitioner, motivational speaker--whatever your business or career--online marketing and promotion through ebook sales and bonus freebies is one of the easiest and most economical ways to enter the global marketplace.
Ebooks can be used as glorified business cards, short, simple how-to books, and instruction manuals (e.g., you may be a fitness trainer with some new resistance training exercises that you’d like to demonstrate; or, possibly you're a professional musician with new practice exercises you’d like to demonstrate because of their effectiveness in solving certain musical challenges, etc.).
Write and sell ebooks on everything and anything!
Ebooks are perfect for poetry. If you have a social networking site and you’d like to share some of your poems, ebook publishing is ideal. You can even create a low- or no-cost cover, purchase an ISBN number and download it to Amazon Kindle. Join Amazon Associates if you haven’t already, and you’ll be burning the Kindle-Candle at both ends! While you’re at it, if your friends and family have never heard of Amazon Kindle, introduce them and start selling this amazing reading device as well. Commission for Kindle sales is excellent.
My Kindle goes everywhere with me—it’s loaded with ebooks from the Kindle Media store. The store now has more than 89,000 books, top U.S. and international newspapers including the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and Le Monde; top magazines including TIME, Atlantic Monthly, and Forbes; and more than 250 top blogs from the worlds of business, technology, sports, entertainment, and politics, including BoingBoing, Slashdot, TechCrunch, ESPN's Bill Simmons, The Onion, Michelle Malkin, and The Huffington Post--all auto-delivered wirelessly.
Publish your short stories and fiction as ebooks
Create a collection of short-shorts and make it into an ebook. These “fiction bytes” are perfect for people reading on the fly. Don't shy away from publishing longer fiction works. One of my favorite pastimes is curling up with my Kindle and reading a good ebook novel.
Articles into ebooks
Ebooks are a perfect medium for articles. One long article could be an ebook; or you may wish to publish a collection of articles on the same topic.
Recycle your blog entries; spruce them up, add a bit of information here and there and publish them as an ebook.
Your ebook publishing can also include ebook conversions to the many different formats used by retailers, smart phones, PDAs and other portable devices. On my Write to Publish website, I’ve posted a wealth of information about conversions as well as ebook marketing.
If you’d like even more information, contact me to set up a (free) phone conference.
Also, if you need help promoting your products and services, DO contact me and I’ll show you how to start blogging, webbing and lensing (one of the latest and greatest networks is Squidoo, where you can create multiple lenses--no limit to the number of free mini-websites!).
If you’re not a writer or if you don’t have time to write your own ebooks, I’ll be happy to be your ghostwriter, book doctor, editor… I'd love to provide whatever writing services you may need.
Why ebooks vs. hard copy books?
Although hard copy books will probably be around for at least the next hundred years or so, it’s no secret that the entire media world is rapidly going electronic. Ebook readers will soon be used in school systems; computers have already entered the classroom. Whatever enterprise is not already computerized is behind the eight ball and suffering the consequences.
If some of your friends and colleagues prefer hard copy versions of your work, do an easy setup for print on demand at one of the online publishing companies. If you prefer a quality product or if you want to have a professionally published book to sell at your seminars and conferences, I’d love to help you. Contact me for a free evaluation and project quote. I’ll also send you information about Dandelion’s ebook publishing package.
