If your vacation destination is Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, taking an extra day or evening and spending it at Disney Downtown offers a shopping experience that only Disney can pull off.

There are opportunities for little girls to transform themselves into real princesses at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. It’s the ultimate princess makeover and royal treatments which include hair, makeup, nails, princess gown and a gorgeous photo to capture the magical moment.

There are many fabulous eating establishments at Disney Downtown including Wolf Gang Pucks, Rainforest Café, and Planet Hollywood to name a few.

Disney Downtown comes alive during the night with numerous nightclubs on Pleasure Island which requires separate admission. If you like to party, this is the place. Whether you like the blues, hip hop, music from the 70’s and 80’s, R&B, or contemporary, there’s a place for you.

The Comedy Warehouse provides hilarious improv for those who like to laugh themselves silly.

Catch a movie at the AMC theater or sit by the lake and people watch. Just walking around, looking at the storefronts, garden areas, watching dancing fountains, seeing children play and listening to the happy music is enjoyable.

Of course, a marketplace wouldn’t be a marketplace without great shopping opportunities. Just about anything Disney can be found here. In addition, enjoy shopping at Virgin Records, Harley Davidson, specialty stores for collector items, magic tricks, toys, Lego Imagination Center where everything Lego can be found.

Disney Downtown and Marketplace is a day trip for sure. Wear comfortable shoes and anticipate a fun and exciting day. There are several shady spots and all stores are air conditioned for your enjoyment as well as water fountains. Also recommended is a small umbrella or raincoat that can easily be tucked in a backpack or purse as its not unusual for afternoon showers.

Guest amenities at Disney Downtown include restrooms, lost and found, guest relations, ATM’s, automated external defibrillators, locker rentals, Disney Vacation Club Information Center, pin trading location, stroller and wheelchair rentals, bus station, water taxi station, taxi station, several parking lots, dining, shopping and entertainment.
