While developing my "Symbol Linking" guided meditation series, I found myself sitting in a beautiful garden. It was Spring and the garden was lush and in full bloom with beautiful tulips, daffodils, lillies, wisteria and jasmine. I felt peaceful and content and waited for one of God's Creatures to come and give me a message. (as directed in the meditation).
In this tranquil setting came a Butterfly, and it landed on my nose! You can just imagine trying to look down my nose at this beautiful Monarch Butterfly....all I could see was a pair of big beautiful wings fluttering up and down...up and down. No "message" was forth coming, but I just knew that the Butterfly had a message for me, and so began my search for that meaning. What did the Butterfly symbolize? Here is what I found.
Among the ancients, the Butterfly is an emblem of the SOUL and a symbol of the unconscious attraction toward the LIGHT.
In Greek myth the Butterfly is the symbol for the PSYCHE, and as the Greek name indicates, the Butterfly...like the Bird...is the symbol for the human SOUL.
In it's "flightiness" it resembles elves, genies, cupids, pixies and fairies. Just like dream or fantasy figures are often depicted with BUTTERFLY WINGS, as is HYPNOS, the God of sleep (Roman...Latin for sleep, Somnus).
In many cultures the Butterfly means Beauty, Rebirth and Transformation...shedding the cocoon to be released into freedom.
After reading and research on the Butterfly, I felt that the "message" was clear and chose the Butterfly as my Symbol for the Hypnotic work I do, "Symbol Linking".
In the Symbol Linking process you will be guided on a wonderful inner journey where you will access new and sometimes surprising information. Your own personal symbols will surface, showing you how you view your relationships, career, yourself and your life. It uncovers your full potential, and
you will discover your hidden strengths and talents. It helps to push through blocks and deal with issues that are holding you back.
