As of late, I had a woman come to me who was afraid for her and her child, even though they lived in one of the safest places on earth. And she would pray all the time but she was still in constant fear. Her fear started years ago and now she is making her little girl very fearful. And I’ve had an older gentleman come to me in complete fear. How do we heal fear?

1 - Make Up Your Mind to Change - First we have to decide that we will not live in fear. At one time in my life I too was fearful and then I made a conscious decision to not allow fear to control my life. Sit down and write a letter to yourself and pledge that from this day forward you will no longer allow fear to control your life. And tape that letter somewhere where you see it every single day.

2 - Learn Meditation - Meditation helps with stress and what is fear but a stress creating emotion. And when we meditate our emotions are calmed and we no longer wear our emotions on our sleeve. In fact, the part of our brain that controls strong emotions is also calmed and thus we no longer have the same responses to stimuli that would normally make us fearful. And meditation just a scientific proven process of healing the brain.

3 - Seek Medical Help - Many times counseling is of utmost importance in order to help us see that there is nothing to fear. And to start doing some talk therapy to calm our fears and to cognitively understand our fears and where they come from. And doing some behavioral modification techniques would also be helpful to find inner peace. Find a counselor to see in person near you.

4 - Move Outside of Your Comfort Zone - If we stay locked in the house without ever moving beyond our comfort zone… having someone else buy the groceries and doing the errands then we will never overcome our fear. Slowly but surely, we have to move outside of our comfort zone to the point that we can see that there is nothing to fear. As President Kennedy said, “The Only Thing We Have to Fear is Fear Itself”.

5 - Start Chanting - It has been shown in scientific studies that if a person does 20 to 30 minutes of chanting daily they have less stress and fear. Chanting out loud is very simple, it could be a word, a phrase, something spiritual from a spiritual book, or anything that brings comfort. Just sitting down and chanting brings inner peace, and I have even had people with cancer have their cancer disappear when they started chanting every single day.

6 - Ask God for Strength - Everyone has the ability to heal their life. But sometimes we need to ask God, the Universe, and Great Spirit for the strength to become a different person.

7 - Use Technology to Help with Fear - Download subliminal recordings or make your own subliminal recording to control your fear. This is just listening to nature sounds or classical music with an almost inaudible subliminal suggestions in the background that does the work… thus moving you in the direction of getting rid of your fear.
