They are your little life savers. They are handy items you dare not forget in each of your travels. What is it? First aid kit? Food? Water? Well, yes, they could be your life-savers, but we’re actually referring to something smaller. They’re those that you can easily carry in your pockets or in your totes – essential oils.

When you say essential oils, you often associate them with perfumes or other beauty products. But I tell you, these oils are so versatile. That is why I am suggesting you should never leave your home without even a bottle of any of the oils below.

Before we continue, let us know what are essential oils.

What Are Essential Oils?

Extracted from flowers, barks, seeds, roots, and other parts of a plant, essential oils are aromatic compounds used topically or internally for physical and emotional well-being.

1. Lavender

Known for its healing properties, Lavender essential oil can treat a number of skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis. Aside from that, it helps improve sleep and calm overly excited children. It’s indeed a great addition to your travel kit.

2. Peppermint

To improve your focus, grab a bottle of peppermint essential oil and inhale it straight off a hot towel. If you have nasal congestion, add a few drops of this oil in a bowl of hot water and inhale the aroma for instant relief.

3. Citrus Oil

A few drops of citrus essential oil make an excellent room freshener. Whenever you reach hotel room, spritz this oil to get rid of those awful smells.

4. Tea Tree

During vacations, insect bites and sunburns are common. Thankfully, tea tree essential oil has antiseptic properties, making it an effective insect repellent. You can also mix it with water for an instant hand sanitizer.

5. Frankincense

Another incredible essential oil for traveling, Frankincense can help nourish dry skin, which often comes along with sunburn. It also alleviates fatigues, headaches, and stress.

To make traveling with essential oils easier, pack these items in handy bottles. Then again, make sure you still adhere to the standards for liquid carry-ons, especially when traveling by air. Cheers to more travels!
