Sometimes it's hard to change your life and get back on track. Learn 3 simple strategies to achieve your goals quickly. This article explains how develop a plan for your life and make life better. Many life coaches use these 3 simple tips. You can too.

Step 1. Stick With Your Original Goals

Persistence is the breakfast of champions. I can almost guarantee there is no one in your life that you admire who did not have the opportunity to give up on their dream at some point.

When working with life coaching clients, I have found that most often the problem is not that they are completely clueless about how to get their life on track. The problem is, they have a major dream, goal, or passion that they have given up on because of feeling discouraged.

Once this discouragement hits, they switch to something else and tell themselves they don’t care about the original goal or “it would have never worked anyway.”

Many times, all a life coach does is help clients tap into their passion again, set realistic coals, and pick up their dusty goals again, which have been sitting on the shelf of time for too long.

Make it your habit to finish everything you start, big or small. For example, if you start cleaning your room, finish cleaning it. If you pick up the phone to call someone, actually call. Finishing your actions allows your life to build momentum.

When you want to change your life, use momentum to your advantage. Momentum can make all the difference in achieving your goals. It takes a lot more momentum to get a Boeing 747 Aircraft off the ground that it does to get a paper airplane in the air. Similarly, the bigger your goal is, the more important it is to build momentum.

Stick with your goals. Changing your life is simple, but it is not easy. Expect challenges, but keep going anyway.

Persistence demonstrates what you really believe. If you do not persist, you did not believe. This is probably the one step that makes or breaks people when they are trying to get their life on track. Keep in mind this helpful quote by Calvin Coolidge 30th U.S. President

“Nothing in the world can take the place of Persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan 'Press On' has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.”
-Calvin Coolidge, 30th President of the United States (1872-1933)

Step 2: Create Your Action Plan

Once you are clear on what you want to change to make life better, you must decide how you’re going to get there. You need a plan of action.

Failing to plan is planning to fail. Dreams and goals are made real by planning. This is the point where people most often seek help. A good life coach can help you with planning process, and help you create a step-by-step strategy when you’re deciding how to achieve your goals.
Planning forces you to take yourself and your goals seriously. Planning forces you to take a look at your level of commitment to achieving your goals. If you want change your life or get your life back on track you need a good plan.

Even Jesus talked about the importance of making a plan in ancient scripture.

"For which one of you, when he wants to build a tower, does not first sit down and calculate the cost to see if he has enough to complete it? Otherwise, when he has laid a foundation and is not able to finish, all who observe it begin to ridicule him, saying, This man began to build and was not able to finish." - Luke 14:28-35

How to Make A Good Plan to Achieve Your Goals

In order to make a good plan, begin with the end in mind. Simply work your way backwards by answering the question, “Why am I not at my goal today?”

Your answers will uncover the obstacles you are facing. Take these obstacles and flip them into goals. Then write out the actions you need to take. These are the steps in between which are required to get you from one goal to the next. There are different types of plans and different planning methods, but the bottom line is to make it simple, and take consistent action.

3. Celebrate Your Progress

Celebration is a powerful tool to achieve your goals faster or get your life on track. The problem is, most people celebrate the wrong habits and painful moments of their life by dwelling on them. However, they fail to acknowledge and celebrate when they make progress.

Even the longest journey begins with a tiny first step. When you celebrate your progress, even the tiniest action, it sends a signal to your subconscious mind that says, “This is good. Let’s do more of this.”

When you celebrate negative habits you slowly destroy your life. When you celebrate positive changes, you speed up the process of being successful in life. Pretty soon, you’ll find yourself doing more of the right things without even thinking. Everyday, find something to celebrate or do something new in your life worth celebrating.
